If I've posted in the wrong area, I'm sure the Mods will move us-
I would like to move my very chatty and friendly "Waiting for ROFR" thread here from the Disboards. It may take a bit to get everyone filled in on where to find us.
Feel free to join the chat, fun and aggrivation that is "Waiting for ROFR" and "Waiting to Close"
There are about 300 pages of this thread on the Disboards...until the mods locked us up. I'm hoping to keep the thread alive here!

Most of us are in process of buying DVC points. Disney has the first option to buy the contract at the price we negotiated -typical in timeshare purchases- that is call Right Of First Refusal=ROFR.
We are all at various stages when our thread got closed. We are hoping to get all our peeps to move over here where I am sure we will find the atmosphere more "hospitable".

Waiting to see if Disney is going to take away your resale by exercising it's right of first refusal.
This thread originally started when a group of us started checking in online ( constantly) to see if we passed our ROFR.
Dang, Greenban, forever banned? If I didn't know how easy it is to PO the mods, I'd be even super impressed! :ROTFL:

Tammy I made it in. It wont take long. I like the set-up here it looks similar to the other one but with new cool smile thingys.
Laxmom if you want to let me know I'll split the PM's with you to get the word out faster.
I have to run my daughter is marching in the memorial day parade. I'll check back later.
greenban - Right Of First Refusal. Disney's right when you purchase a DVC by resale.

Ed, I had emailed everyone early this am about the yahoo group so I just posted a link there. I did email back about 10 pages on the old thread and anyone on the new community board thread just in case. I may have contacted some twice but I would rather be safe than sorry.
I will keep my eyes on the new post, for as long as I can, and pm or email them.
Wow, Greenban! Tammy is right! I think we will fit in here just fine!!! I like the smileys better too!!! This is me =:tapedshut!!

Well, Carolyn called last week to ask how our closing was. She has been on vaca. DH gave her an earful about how we had been promised paperwork from the attorney a week ago and that they haven't returned our calls or emails since. She is to get back with us mid week once she gets an update. Laxdad told her that right now he doesn't care if it goes through or not but that he wants it resolved one way or another....NOW! I had already told here we were not interested in signing another extension. Original expires in about 10 days. I will not give them until August to complete this! Right now we have leverage, if we sign that doc, we lose it! This is an attorney that Disney chose and supposedly works with for closings on HHI. They have had our paperwork for 5 weeks.

Hey Tammy! Where are you staying for your June trip! I am looking for any and all advice on our upcoming OKW stay. Having never stayed at and DVC before, I am so open to where to eat, what to try and so on.
Laxlad has decided not to take a buddy. I guess he wants some Mom, Dad and Laxlad time. Yeah right! He can't think of a friend that wouldn't drive him nuts for a week!!!! The friend that is going on our cruise with us has to work.

In June I'm at SSR. I made my ressies late and my top choices were booked up but SSR will be great anyway.
I'm not much of a resource on Disney Dining. On the May trip we ate off site a lot. We've got lots of ressies for F&W and new places I haven't been to yet.
Our cruise is just going to be me and DD at this point. Not that having a break from DH and DS is a bad thing...:innocent:
I paid the cruise off in full but haven't received anything from DCL yet. I know you have.

It was just the basic cruise booklet. NBD. The only thing that was new for us was the formal night stuff. We have never had a formal night on DCL. Not even sure if will be very formal for us since the airlines are getting stinky about bags. I am not interested in paying extra for formalwear! I think the cruiselines are going to have to make some adjustments because that seems to be the concensus.
Love the fishy! And hey BWV Dreamin!! I'm as happy as this little guy :beaniepro

05-26-2008, 05:08 PM
I cannot believe you didn't get a better answer on your closing! I think I would seriously be medicated at this point and I'd probably be buying some sleeping bags too.
I'd be using them to sleep on the floor of TTS if I flew into MCO for my trip and all the rooms were booked up...I mean, they caused the trouble, right?
tink'smom2B
05-26-2008, 05:16 PM
I think that's why the thread was pulled. They have been very unhelpful. I made a joke to Jerry about sending me gift baskets, making a reservation for us (I understand the owner has points), or just anything to make us feel better! Jerry said to come down and see him and he will give us a basket! I'm not sure why I'm being treated like this, but it really wasn't very nice. I'm just not a demanding person. I don't have it in me and he can sense that. So, we wait.
tammymacb
05-26-2008, 05:19 PM

tink'smom2B
05-26-2008, 05:22 PM
Well, according to Jerry, all we can do is wait or cancel the contract. We bought 150 BCV December u/y for $86 a point. They are usually much higher. Although, if Disney started selling KTR I would cancel in a heartbeat!!!

Hey tm2b:
Despite me being a real TTS cheerleader and kool-aid drinker, why don't you post the full story for MOs members to read?
The little bit I have garnered so far (out of context, and between the lines so far) seems to be an evil seller's fault. But I may (yet again!) be wrong......

Hey Cherta!! Glad you found us!!!:doublejum
Yea, Tinksmom, here you can tell your tale. Greenban, there seem to be some problems at TTS. We have had quite a few people have issues lately with issues other than sellers but some of those too.
I go for whoever has the best contract that fits my needs....period! I don't think there is any one any worse or better than another after all, everyone has a bad day, right? In my case, it was GMAC. No problems with them, just the lawyer that Disney hired. I think they may not know what they are doing since this is a new requirement in SC.

The info I got from lurking on that thread before buying helped so much. I knew the steps to the process before we took the leap. Heck, you all even helped me through my ROFR from Marriott! ( But if that hadn't happened, I would have the contract that I have now.) There wasn't a mean spirited person in the bunch just friendly and caring folks willing to share their own experiences. OK, time for the embarrassing story of the day.
Picked up DD and her GF and they wanted to go to lunch. So, off we went to On the Border for Quesadillas. Ate, got the bill, and realized....my check card is in the scrubs I wore yesterday. :hehehehe: I don't carry a credit card and I had 2 dollars cash and no checkbook. So told the girls, don't worry. Sit here and I'll run to the bank to get money. Well, it's Memorial Day....banks closed and the only way to get money is with the check card at the ATM. So, had to go up and tell the waiter and the manager :violinist They know me cause I eat there all the time and they were like "Don't worry about it, it's on us!" I argued that I'd go home and come right back but they said don't bother.
So Kudos to On the Border. They were great!

Click on Forums. In the upper right hand corner is a little rectangle sign with the name of the awards on it. Click it and it will take you there.
I'd love to see this board win it. They deserve recognition for establishing a great site for us to land in. I am very thankful they were here.

I'm not sure who has followed us here and who didn't and I'm sure some of the names changed. At least here is a jumping off point. Hopefully Cheryl will be here soon with her list and Bob with his, then we'll be off and running!

Hi Amy and :welcome:
That is so what sucks about what the Disboards did to us. There were so many folks involved with our old thread. When the first thread was going to close ( at 250 pages ) it was really important not to lose folks and leave them stranded. Well, when they just came in and shut us down with no warning...you know there are folks scratching their head saying..."Where did it go?" And that's exactly what the Disboards wants, too....gone and forgotten.
I'm glad you found us though. Susan did an awesome job of helping folks find this place as I'm restricted on that site and can't do anything to help out with that now.

We just avoid Aunt Edna's and hot topics. Sometimes, they find us, though, as hard as we try. Some are just having a bad day and some, well.... you know. We are more about friendships and support for anyone who needs it or wants it!
No insults here, Kim. I think we left Aunt Edna and her evil twin on the other board!!!

Ahhh the Aunt Edna's. Well, I'll explain. There was this person on the other board who was mean spirited and we generally all felt that she was nasty. I quote a lot of Vacation in my threads therefore I started calling her her Aunt Edna the mean old Aunt they got stuck with in the movie this way we didn't have to refer to her by name on the board. In time the name Aunt Edna has now come to represent mean people who are on forums that generally think they know more than everyone else, their opinions are all that matter and are generally sucking all the fun out of Disney Forums. Of course this little group here is the only group that refer to people those that way.
I see that administrators are all pretty quick on here I get the feeling for you guys it's like this whole group of people just moved into the neighbourhood and nobody knows what to make of it. I assure you we don't swear, Grandbuddy wouldn't let us, we don't attack people we are all very nice, love Disney and our DVC's or soon to be DVC's. There were issues on the last site but that had to with the responding to nastiness not starting it.
A lot of us have already gone through the DVC process but loved this group so much we stayed on and are here to support the folks going through what we just did. Which brings up my "Tag" although I wish I was buying again, I'm already in, I'll check the tech board on how to change it.

I do not think you can change the tags, they are based on the number of posts you have, not really what your personal situation is. Someone tell me if I am wrong. The reason I know this is that on a mommy board I am on after you reach a certain number of posts it says baby on board.. Everyone always freaks out when they see that!:whatababy

For us we are in the closing part....
Our Contract is 270 points BCV, UY March $84 a point, all points in place. It passed ROFR in 9 days, 31 days in Estoppeland, and now we are waiting for the closing. We are dealing with GMAC.

Tomorrow is another day- hoping I hear from Rachel and get this contract closed already.
Also I will be calling MS and seeing if there is any avail. for a few days anywhere in Aug. I invited my parents over for crabs and a cookout today- we all started talking about how my DH is turning 40 this summer and my parents offered to watch the kids while we do a 2-3 night birthday trip. Going to WDW without the kids feels so wrong but I know HHI or VB will be booked. I have around 30 banked points that I have to use anyway. Fingers crossed that something is available.
Goodnoght everyone.

OK, so DH is not the Disney nut that I am. He is so cool, calm, and collected about all of this it pains me! That's why I come to the boards ;) So, for all who haven't heard, I will tell my story.
We innocently purchased 150 BCV points with December use year @ $86 per point on or near 2/26. We sent the signed contract back and thought it was going to ROFR. Disney sent the contract back to TTS and said it had the wrong contract number on it. So, it was resubmitted around 3/6 and we waited. It passed ROFR on 3/28 and TTS finally sent us the closing papers on 4/18. We immediately returned the papers with our check (it was cashed along with a loan check on 4/21). We received a paper along with our closing papers that said it would take 4-6 weeks to get the deed recorded. I didn't worry about it too much until I wanted to make a reservation for next Easter. As the date loomed, and I was making the plane reservations, I started getting worried and turned to the boards. That's when I received a lot of attention :whistlebl and you know the rest. Jerry at TTS said the closing company should receive the sellers documents early this week. But he did email the seller last week asking for immediate return of the signed closing documents and the seller didn't respond. (I think the seller doesn't want to sell at that price!) It should be an interesting week!

TM2B, I sure hope you find out that you have closed. Still don't understand why no one felt it was neccessary to keep you updated for, oh, lets see, 4-5 weeks that the sellers were not responding!!!:catchingz I am sure that they had no idea when they deposited your loan check that the selers were not going to respond but that is no comfort when you have to make that loan payment for points you don't have! And while they can't control the seller, they can control how they handle the situation-keeping you in the loop should have been the first step!! I'm really hoping you get good news very soon!!

Well, my first trip to my new home is all set, right at the eleventh month window went day to day I got a studio with Boardwalk View and requested a high floor. I'm all psyched except now I have to wait eleven months to go. Oh well, football season kills a lot of time for me and then the holidays of course. Seems like the same thing every year from January 2nd until we leave it's all Disney all the time. Oh, the rest of you were talking about how you received your cards and it's says, member since "whenever" I finally got my member card the other day and mine says member since 2000. Weird, must be when the contract was originally purchased through Disney.

First, I’d like to officially welcome y’all to MO! I’m sorry for what you experienced over at the DIS :tearsaref, and I’m hopeful that you can eventually feel at home here.
I’m letting you know that since this has become more of a chatty thread :chat:than a completely informational thread, I’m moving it to Community Hall, home of “The Nothing Thread.” (Incidentally, you might want to check out “The Nothing Thread” : it’s where members go to chat about their day, etc.) You should know that threads that appear in Community Hall do not appear in the “Latest Threads Forum” on the forum home page.
However, because you still have valuable information to share :teacher: (information that one of our members, Delaware Mike, has utilized to create a ROFR database), I’d like to suggest that you start another thread in the “Purchasing DVC” forum. The new thread would contain hard data from contracts that are awaiting ROFR as well as those that have passed. In other words, you can have two separate threads: a support thread and a data thread.
I’d also like to encourage you to explore MO. I know that y’all came over here en masse, and I know that since you’re angry :mad:about what happened to you over at the DIS, you need some time to explore and express that (however, please do try to refrain from outright “bashing” both sites and people:box:) before you can move on. Eventually, I would like to see you move on to become more integrated with our existing community :grouphug:. In other words, I’m a bit wary and gun-shy of a clique forming: that just brings visions of the DIS to my head, and those visions aren’t pleasant ones :faint:. I think that you’ll find us to be pretty flexible and friendly.
I’m planning on moving the thread tonight. Thanks for your cooperation. :)

This thread was originally set up to provide a forum for folks who are buying into the mouse through various resale agencies, and that is how several of us who are on here became friends. Our stated hope in continuing the tread was to help "shepherd" others through the resale process. I really don't think you need to worry about our group attempting to exclude anyone who comes here - in fact we rejoice with each new arrival.
Is it possible to just hang out here, sharing the status of our attempts to purchase, and ready to help anyone who shows up, but continuing to chat between newsworthy incidents? I don't think folks who are starting the purchase process are going to be able to find us, if we are on a community board. I can hardly find us, myself. But then I am elderly and easily confused. (Actually, I was sometimes confused even before I became eligible for senior coffee. It kind of hurt my feelings the first few times the counter help would say, "...and a senior coffee, sir?" I've gotten used to it.)
Anyway, I guess the point is, if you would consider letting us be here to be available to folks moving through the process, that would be nice. If not, I guess I will figure out how to find us again. Please leave a link to wherever you put us.
As you can tell, I tend to get chatty wherever I find myself. So, if I am in an inappropriate place for that, I shall just say...Hmmm...my bad.
Just noticed the thread has had more than 1400 viewings, here. I'm thinking some of those folks might jump in and join us, given the chance to get to know us.

Thought for all... (oh...where is my manners???: Ummm hi new active thread...hoping to be needing this thread SOON)....
How about a sticky with the link to this thread on the Purchasing forum? The admin could post about how busy it is and what it is for. I do know that the very first place I posted and the only place I read at first when I was new (and newbie to DVC message boards period) was the Purchasing thread...because that was what I was interested in...
Then the clouds parted from my mind and I couldn't believe all the fantastic people, information and fun stuff available all over.
So just thinking out loud...

I understand your sense of community and your desire to keep it together. However, given the facts that 1) this thread has reached 12 pages in less than a day, and 2) it doesn't have much real information in it, honestly, I'm skeptical that a would-be buyer would find it an easy place into which to dive -- just from a logistical standpoint.
Folks would be able to find you if we put a link to this thread in the hard ROFR data thread. Community Hall is not far away: This is a DVC forum, after all. Have you actually checked out our Community Hall or the Nothing Thread to which I alluded? I think you'll find that this thread really does belong there.

Dear new Banees! (Or should that be Banshees and Banhees?)
While, I feel your pain from being bounced from the DISboards, and I too very much mourned the demise of the DVC Community sub.
Also, you (collective) are sensitive from the betrayal, over there....
BUT, here is the difference. Our ADMINSTRATOR is talking to you.
She didn't poof you or your thread.
She replied to your concerns.
It may still not go your way, but (no pre-pun intended) risking being called the Admin's kiss up, she at least participates, and thinks before making changes.
Plus this is a *different* site, some change in inevitable!
Plus, your thread will remain just as active on the community board.

I think you'll find the Community Hall forum well-suited to keeping in touch with friends and chatting about various topics. One thread ("Nothing Part 4") has over 2,300 posts.
I think it's better if we separate the conversational threads from the informational threads.

Ok, I'm going to try to be the voice of constructive dissent among us 'banees.' To be frank (no, wait, that's somebody else), I didn't have a problem with the previous host forum attempting to move our thread. What I did have a problem with was the fairly petty and underhanded way some things were handled (and the fact that there were some self-serving reasons for the moves resulting from conversation that very much WAS on topic). However, that doesn't effect what is being asked of us here. As was pointed out earlier, this Admin is trying to engage a conversation, and we really can't ask more than that.
With this said, I have to understand the perspective of the Admin. If you look at our posts (going back to well before the weekend) and see how much time we have spent discussing music, lacrosse, the Steven Curtis Chapman situation, families, jobs, Questions of the Day, etc... you will see that our valuable information is buried beneath a sea of chatter. I, personally, love the chatter, but as I have thought about it, have come to see how all of the chatter might keep someone from getting the most of the informative part of the thread. This is why I see the earlier suggestions as valid. If we have an ROFR thread that is available on the purchasing forum, we can post our specific information and details there, discuss people's concerns and invite anyone who joins that thread to join us for a wider community conversation on the Community-based thread.
In the best of all possible worlds, we'd just keep doing exactly what we want to do exactly where we want to do it. However, at least we're being brought into the conversation and asked to engage in the solution. I don't think this dual-thread option is an unreasonable suggestion. I know I'm a little newer to this thread than some (I've only been around for the last 5 weeks or so), but IMHO I don't think that too much is being asked of us.
With that, I'll have said my share and will simply wait for you all to tell me where to go next - I'll certainly see you there (after my softball game tonight, that is). :wearenumb

I am brand new to this thread and this website... just reading all of your posts makes me want to run away to my home resort tommorow! Since all of you seem like you know what you are doing much more than I do when it comes to DVC membership.. I have a question.. (hopefully this is the corect forum).. We are selling SOME of our points.. I have them listed with INternational GMAC.. does anyone know of a better place to list? I have them listed super cheap at 75.00 pp (SSR)... I thought they would be gone by now but they are just SITTING.. I know this is not a sales web site.. I am just looking for suggestions from experienced purchasers/ sellers... Thanks, Colleen
I look forward to coming to this site often.. I am glad I stumbled upon it!! :woohoo:

I personally recommend the Timeshare Store, and Shontell at DVCbyresale.com
I have purchased from both, and been 100% satisfied by both. I often hear others state how fast their contracts have sold (often within 24 hours). However, the economy is slowing down, and SSR is not the most in demand resort.
Best of luck!

Ok, I'm going to try to be the voice of constructive dissent among us 'banees.'
I agree with you Mick...all good and accurate stuff. I pm'd a few and it was mentioned to post my thoughts as well...
I know I haven't been around much (work gets in the way) but looks like we're being bounced again though this time in a more friendly manner.
I was going to agree with grandbuddy and his earlier post...I would like to see it maintained but I completely understand the admin's thoughts as well as Mickeyfan stated previously. This group does get just a bit chatty...(where is running at the mouth smilie when you need it)
How about if we start another thread..."We bought, so can you" to help those in the thought process. Like our old lists, perhaps a "members" and "members" in waiting list so everyone knows who's who.
thoughts??? again I'll be glad to start it, whatever, but I think it's something that we can be helpful to others by maintaining a presence in ROFRville.
I'm on my way now to piano lessons and swim team practice...hoping you are around this evening when my fingers can do the typing.

My comment was directed at you because you called us the banees.
This thread moves at fast clip, doesn't it. I can't keep up.
I have not seen "chatty" behavior discouraged at all on MO. If you look at the "nothing thread"... you should quickly come to the same conclusion. :)
I think the moderator is simply stating that the community thread is a more effective place to have "chatty" behavior.

Being on the community board here won't be bad- it is VERY different than being on the Community Board on the DIS because this site is a Disney Vacation Club site- Pretty much everybody on here owns or is thinking of buying. That is a huge difference than the DIS.

This is a very true statement. MouseOwners is DVC ownership site, where as on the other boards DVC is a small "other" segment of thier total number of forums and members.

I appreciate that folks generally seem to understand what I'm trying to do here. I'm not trying to chase anyone away; I'm just trying to do what's best for the board/community. I'm particularly attuned to how things may be perceived from the point of view of a newcomer (hospitality was my former industry). And "chatty" threads can be somewhat daunting to those who might otherwise wish to join in. I know we can't make everyone comfortable, but I think we can all agree that its' best to try to be welcoming.
What I'd like to propose is this:
I will start up a "Waiting for ROFR? Please Enter Your Data Here!" thread in the "Purchasing DVC" forum. Y'all can place names, contracts, UYs, hard data, etc., in there. In my original post for that thread (which I'll make a sticky), I will note that there is a "ROFR Support Group" (i.e., this very thread) in Community Hall. I will link to this thread, which will be renamed "ROFR Support Group."
Again, I just want to mention that I am concerned about cliquishness. Several people have already said, "We'd welcome anyone into the ROFR thread." But that's not really what I'm talking about. What I'm talking about is having y'all who inhabit the ROFR thread become full members of our community. In other words, I don't want for it to be like y'all just arrived with your tent on our campground, set up your tent, and then ignored those of us who've been on this campground for a long time. Does that make sense?
Thx,
Kim

Dear new Banees! (Or should that be Banshees and Banhees?)
While, I feel your pain from being bounced from the DISboards, and I too very much mourned the demise of the DVC Community sub.
Welcome to the neighboorhbood/home!
-Tony
As somebody has pointed out, we weren't actually banished - just summarily removed to a remote location where no one would have access to the information that was coming out which was negative, regarding a sponsor of the site. (And I was out of town, and mostly out of touch, so it was especially disconcerting - kind of like Bob, who was tied up with work. Again, many thanks to Susan, who put in lots of hours to let us know how to find each other again.)
I so much appreciate the way we are being treated, here. I think we can make this work, and have a home base to enjoy our new involvement in community, which is what we have become; and a thread for information. If more folks will join in over at the community board, I'm all for it. I just want someone to find Cheryl!
It would seem that the community thread would be perfect from what I have seen. Come to the nothing thread too. It really is a lot like this one :)
/Jim
I'm still mulling over how I like being told I would fit in well in the nothing thread! But you sound friendly, so I shall take it as a compliment.

Colleen -
GMAC does allow the posting of offerings at below what would get through ROFR, in order to generate calls on their listings. As you may know, they don't post all our information - you have to call them and tell them what you are wanting. While I have had some frustrations in communicating with them, I don't find them impossible to deal with. When they discuss a listing with a buyer, they advise the buyer that an offer below a certain point is not likely to get past Disney's ROFR.
:howudoin:Hi to everyone. Tomorrow we shall be where the buffalo roam and where one seldom hears a discouraging word. God bless everybody.

I'm so glad to see that this thread is working well. I'm just really glad we're in a friendly place.
I, too, have worried about where we "belonged" as many of us are closing soon/closed. And, even though we are always available to share our experience, I didn't know quite how we'd fit. The community forum here seems like a great fit!
Hopefully, we've just experienced our last move.
Though I would love to see folks come through who are just starting the process...here we can talk about whatever, whenever....and hopefully meet and make some new friends.

Geesh, you guys were busy!!! We're getting moved again? Now who peed in the Wheaties!!??:tsktsk:
I am just kidding. I honestly don't care where we go as long as we can continue our friendships and make new ones. I am so impressed with how welcoming this board is. I am even finding out new stuff!!! How kewl!! Everyone is so willing to share their knowledge. I never felt welcome like this on the DIS. Maybe that is what made our thread so unique over there; here it is common and that says a lot!!
I am also very impressed at the way the administrator has addressed our concerns and opened dialogue. Again, something we are not used to. Thanks for your candor and concern for us, BTW, administrator.
I want to be able to help people through my own experience. If we can do that in a new thread, so be it. I also don't like cliques, never have. Everyone who posted to our old thread got a reponse from more than one person; hate those threads where you post and get ignored. That is just not our style. We are friendly and welcoming to all and I hope that that will become apparent over time. Actually very much in the way you have all been to this swarm of newbies.
I am not speaking for all, only for myself. But I extremely greatful to those who have welcomed us with open arms. I will continue to post on the Dis until they ban me for who knows what. But I now understand what drives the decisions over there.
Thanks to all who have chimed in with encouragement. I continue to be amazed by your kindness.

Well, guess what. He is covered on his tummy with poison ivy!! It is bad. He makes me itch just looking at him. We have given him Bendryl, bought some Ivy Dry and have been using some bleach on a cotton ball to try and dry it out. Anyone have any other ideas? He has a job interview tomorrow. I sure hope he doesn't scratch all thru it!!!
I am curious if any of you are waiting for estopple for an SSR 150 pt contract with a March UY.

Where are you "Obi Wan igottabuyasecondcontract"
I saw your post on the new thread but no communications here...what gives??!!
Just having a little trouble keeping up with four grandbabies (3 at this house) and 2 threads (in addition to exploring some of the others). I'll be on the road and out of touch all day tomorrow.
I just pm'd Cheryl again so here's hoping.
I agree, HR. Once I saw that most were making the move over here, my anger subsided quick. And then when I realized where we landed and how nice people are here, well I am downright giddy!!

I tried to read too fast, so I had Laxlad crawling through the ivy in his BVDs. Made more sense the second time through! I have done paintballing, and you need some thick clothing to keep from getting pretty bruised up!
Anyway, I finally called Rachel today. She was too busy to have paid attention to the fact I had told her by e-mail that I was going to be out of town for several days. Said she had heard nothing back from the sellers on contract SSR 2.4, who had no clue how many points they had in whatever use year, and that she had called my home phone and left a message about a 170-point contract that had just been listed yesterday. Full 07 and 08 points, and about 40 banked 06 points - and she said she had already verified the point totals through Disney. (Well, that helps!) The listing price was $65 per point. I asked why on earth they would put that price on their contract, and Rachel said she thought they were just trying to catch somebody's eye, knowing they'd probably get an offer that would be consistent with what has made it through ROFR lately. I offered $78 a point, since the GMAC fee adds more than a buck a point to the actual price. Bob got a big pile of points through at that price, so I am hoping for success, here.
And please go back and look at that "other thread" where I posted the above. That's our thread, too. Remember, we are certifiably schizophrenic, now. Gotta remember we still want to be of service, when we can.
Still looking for Cheryl. Thanks for pm'ing her again. Still hope to see Goofydad, monami, and Buckeye Fan, sooner or later.
And again...God bless everybody, and especially Kim and Greenban (Tony?), for making us feel welcome.

Jim, do you know when it passed ROFR? I can go look at our old info.
No BVD's, Grandbuddy. I even had to explain that to him. This younger generation is just so lame! Like he doesn't have bruises from Lacrosse!! It is hard to tell where one sport stops and another starts. Now add poison ivy! I told him he should go to the pool and he responded, "Mom, the little children would run in horror!":blech:
Great contract!! Congrats!! Whooo hoooo! :doublejum I love that guy!! I really hope it goes thru for you this time. It was great of Rachel to think of you that way. I'm sure you are on your way to a happy ending. So are you going to use some points for a Support Thread meet?

Wow! What a trip! I can't tell you how many posts I have read on I can't remember how many sites tonite! But you all are bookmarked now!
DH and I are back in Jersey after an exhausting extended weekend in Maine - helping a friend begin divesting her home there - having lost her husband just before Christmas. We did a lot of work and made a significant dent in the process - but I am whoopped tonite! Maine is such a beautiful state - am so happy that we own a home there, too...even if we were sharing it with a significant hoarde of black flies and mosquitos!
So before I head off to fall asleep, let me say congrats to all who are staying the course with their contract pursuit and pixie dust for all, too!

Sounds like fun.

Two contracts:
1) Passed ROFR 5/11/08 - 150 SSR, 20 banked, all '08 and '09
2) Passed ROFR 5/22/08 - 150 SSR, 0 banked, all '08 and '09
I am hoping they go to a good home. :) They have been good to me... and have been well taken care of. Only driven to church on Sundays.

Hey LM I'm still laughing as I type this but I could not wait until tomorrow to post! So my husband (who is an MD) was lurking over my shoulder as I was reading our thread....he has never posted on a thread before and has no clue about them. He looked at your name LAXMOM and says "why would she advertise that she uses laxatives?" I laughed for 10 minutes before I could explain to him your son plays lax. Only a Doc would think like that.
So I then proceeded to give him a 101 thread class and show him the ropes. I thought you all would enjoy that!:toiletcla
See you all tomorrow!

I'm off today. I guess it's finally time to tell DH we're the proud owners of that AKV add on as he'll have to sign papers for it...( I've already told him, I just don't think he actually believes me...)
So far no movement on either waitlist. June is still SSR and I'm still having to switch out rooms at AKV. I really hope at least the AKV comes through ( as I've lost all hope for June but the kids are looking foreward to SSR anyway ).
So far, no points in the system from the newest ( and last ) contract. When I get them, I'm going to see if I can just go ahead and book a 2 bdrm for June. I haven't done it yet, since I have those 07 banked points I have to use and this is my chance to use them.
pb4ugo, I'm glad you found us. I appreciate you making the effort as the other site went about our burial quickly in the dead of night. Sadly, folks who would just drop in from time to time will never find us again. Or maybe they will.

I got a 3 night reservation for ssr for DH's 40th birthday (Just the 2 of us). It is for August. I may cancel if we think of a different trip we would rather take- but I just wanted to get a booking since it is late notice.
I didn't hear anything yesterday from GMAC- This is dragging like crazy.
