Hi Everyone!

I'm Tammy from Coastal SC.

I am a DVC owner at BWV and just recently a tiny add on at AKL.

I was pretty active on the Disboards as I was the "founder" of the Waiting for ROFR thread and we had over 300 pages of chat. Unfortunately, when people were honest ( can you imagine- some sponsors aren't perfect?!?) our thread was promply exiled from the DVC forum.

When I pressed the Mods about this, I lost a bunch of "privileges" ...Whatever.

I am really an optomistic and happy person and I'm hoping that this board will be fun.

I hope to bring some friends here to check it out.

I've very much enjoyed the posts over here, and am appalled at the Gestapo techniques that are apparently being used on some of the good-hearted, helpful posters over at the DIS:holymoly:

I'll still read the DIS, but this place feels like a new home (guess I have "home" on my mind...I wonder why:hyper:)

Sorry to hear about your banning, bu feel free to join the members of Banfest 2008 over here. Whiloe we don't agressively board-bash :Pssst:, we are free to speak of the past, unlike many of the newer boards popping up to fill the void!

I'm sure your nurse Tammy's waiting for ROFR thread will be a welcome addition here as well. We have a very active ROFR database maintained by Mike here!

I can't even begin to say how sad I was last night when our thread got canned. What started off with a question of the day and some chatting back and forth became a thread of over 300 pages, with some folks who came in several times a day and others who would just ask a question or two. Our goal was to help folks out, stay friendly, answer any questions and have fun.

Obviously that wasn't what the other board was looking for in a thread. When it was promptly locked down for being off topic ( with no warning - again after 300 PAGES ) we were all scrambeling trying to figure out how to keep the thread alive.

We're glad to be here. Stop in to say Hi on the waiting thread, even if you're not at the moment. There is always lots of lip flapping going on...

As you've probably noticed, we don't accept advertising funds. This means that we're not indebted to anyone for anything, and it also means that folks can comment on experiences they've had all over (not just with resellers) -- as long as everyone remains friendly and on an even keel.

That's all we ask for here: mutual respect. It's just so much easier when everyone "plays nice"!!

Another member of the exiled ROFR thread here. Seems like a much nicer place to be. Used to known as horselover on the other board, but figured new board fresh start so I shall hence forth be known as Cheyenne (my horse's name) :howudoin: Hello to all! We really were & are a nice bunch of folks (I joined in much later the the original peeps, just passed ROFR on 100 pts. @ AKV last week) & everyone was always friendly & willing to help. You are so right! We are not a group of troublemakers that go around starting spats or something. Just people trying to help people going thru the same process as we are, with both advice and help and just passing the time with chit chat, some Disney, some not. We laughed a lot and we got a huge amount of views from people who posted and who didn't. Now, we are going to do the same here.

I also occasionally posted on the DIS under the name KyDVC. I got a lot of information from the Waiting for ROFR thread. Glad it found a new home and so many of the familiar names came along.

I justed closed on our OKW purchase. We used Jaki and Kinn of Resalesdvc.com and could not be more pleased with the speed our transaction went through. I am just waiting for Disney to get our names in the computer so we can bank the 2007 points of our contract and make reservations for our 2008 UY.

MO is such a friendly place to meet fellow Disney fans and DVC owners.

Congrats!! I remember asking you where you were in KY once although I don't remember what you said. We are in Cincy - well, north of it.

I'm really glad to hear you say that. That was our intent! Well, that and to not lose our minds in the process!! Still waiting to close on our HHI points. Lawyers involved and yada yada. I've heard nothing but good things about Jaki and Kinn. The others, you hear good and bad, but not them. They just didn't have the contract we were looking for.

I have never been banned... but I do post here more than I do on the other site. I like both... but this one is much easier to follow for two reasons:

1) Fewer posters
2) Better signal to noise ratio (S/N)

I just cannot even begin to keep up with the other sites... This one is tough enough!

I do enjoy both boards a lot. On the other... my participation is spotty... because I just dont have the time to keep up with all of the discussions. When I go in... I have pages of posts that are unread... and I just give up... and just skim for interesting topics.

I have been trying really hard to keep up on MO... and even that can be hard at times. Things seem especially busy today!!!

I know what you are saying. Even the most innocent of threads could go sour really fast and unexpectedly. Could be the problem with bb's though. You can't really tell a person's intent. I think some people just like to think the worst of people and even come to expect it. That is a downward spiral that just can't help but end badly. Know what I mean?

I guess I'm one of the exiled one's too. Although I wasn't banned or punished or whatever. I was one of the "originals" on Tammy's thread and it was great. But I must say, and please don't flame me, it did seem to get off topic quite a bit. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it was a thread about ROFR. I think that's why it got closed.

I'm always happy to find any info on DVC so I'm very happy that I've been introduced to this board.
