If I add on at AKV what are current incentives

DW talked with our guide yesterday and she was told that our use year (Feb) is completely sold out and there is inventory of only 2 weeks left at SSR. This is disappointing for us because we were looking to add on 100 points at SSR and now are waitlisted for possible canceled sales. Our other option is to add on at AKV leading to the question of what exactly are the incentives to buying into AKV currently? I know there is a link to current incentives but I am not sure I understand them. Is it - purchase 100 points get 100 points for use at SSR within 12 months then get your 100 points from 2008 AND the 100 points from 2009 in May of 2009 for AKV?

but from now until May, 2009 - you only will have the bonus points.

In may, 2009 - you get both 2008 and 2009 AKV points.

looks like what you brought won't be open until May, 2009 (it can be earlier)

We've been trying to keep a list of the current incentives in THIS THREAD. It gets updated whenever we speak with our guides or hear of changes from other members. The incentives will differ depending upon if you are a prospective member purchasing your initial buy-in or an existing member doing an add-on.

I would recommend just calling your guide for the latest add-on incentives. For small add-ons of 50-99 points, I believe you just get the $8 off. If you purchase 100+ points, you should get the SSR points as well.

Here's the deal. Purchased 100 points in AKL phase 1 - not sure what the name was but it is not Kandani (sp?)- today and got $8 off per point with 100 points for 2008 and an additional 100 points coming in our use year of Feb 2009 (not much but a plus as we will not be using these points until June 2009 anyway).

There are NO Feb use year points available at SSR right now but you can wait list in case someone changes their mind in the next couple of weeks and they are offering the $500 gift card there (:scratchch doesn't make sense for a SOLD OUT resort to me - not to mention the distinct change of taste I now have related to DVC).

Anyway, we bought but I don't have the same excitement as I did with our other two contract purchases even though AKL was my favorite place I have EVER stayed. Hope this passes and the excitement returns.
