Since we'll have a car for our upcoming trip (staying at BWV) and there's an outside chance of some pool hopping, I'd love to hear opinions on the best pool outside of that resort.
We've used the pools at BWV, OKW (pre-slide), SSR and POFQ. Of those, SSR is probably our favorite, largely due to the kiddie slide and presence of the zero entry area.
So, what resort pools do you like and why?

Poly has a great pool area but I'm disappointed they have no hot tub.
CS has a fantastic pool and play area.
But I think if I HAD to pick one, it would be Dixie Landings. IMO, DL is a deluxe resort at moderate prices.
Sadly, you can't poolhop to Stormalong Bay any more. The drinks at their bar were great and the our girls loved the cheese bread at Yacht Club Galley.....oh well.
Our kids like to do watersprites (or whatever they're called these days) so we either go to the Contemporary, which has a urban buzz to it, or the Polynesian which is just pretty. The main pool is really nice, one of the quiet pools is deep enough to dive in and lunch at Kona Cafe is dynamite. You really should carve out time to do things like this!!!

We really liked SSR as well - kids' favortie slide and love the zero entry. But we also loved the Poly pool - mostly for the atmosphere and the zero entry there as well - the slide is lots of fun - and you can't beat the pool bar there, IMHO!
The bar at the Polynesian pool IS great.....what's the name of the really sweet lady who runs it? I'm drawing a complete blank. She makes a mean pina colada!

Our favourites are SSR and BWV for hopping to.

Hard to beat SSR with the kiddie slide you mentioned and the zero entry and it just has a nice atmosphere with the buildings and rocks area
We like a WL/VWL hop as well assuming the resort is quiet - our DS#1 thinks the river running into the pool is neat :sunny:

We haven't really done much hopping because SSR's pool is awesome. We've been to CBR which is nice and you all are making me want to try out the polynesian.:bouncingp

When we stayed at VWL, we hopped to BWV, and when we stayed at BWV, we hopped to WL! This trip, we're staying at OKW.... not sure WHERE we will hop to! Is SSR a "hoppable" pool? THe kids loved the pool and the games (esp the "races"!) when we stayed there, but due to its size, I just wonder if it is hoppable - can't recall any restrictions on pools other than SAB and the AKL pool, though.
May have to try a poly hop!

Gopherit, the pool is hoppable and it is one of the nicest pools and it's right next door to you so it will be an excellent choice for hopping.

OKW, POLY, SSR, all have excellent pools! I really kinda partial to OKW for some reason, I love the music I guess.
During our Poly days, we were pool hounds. Which brings me to a question. How do you pool hop to Poly. Do the guards know at the gate that we have pool hopping priviledges? They are so tough at the gate there for being on the monorail and stuff. (for good reason!)

I agree with the Poly or SSR. Also The GF has a cool slide and Cabanas.

I like both the hot tub and the pool slide at Coronado Springs, and they have nice Margaritas at the pool bar. I've never seen the GF pool ... maybe next time.
