View Full Version : West Coast/ East Coast
Most mornings I wake up on the west coast to find a ton of messages here waiting to read. This morning I woke up in DC... and there were virtually none... I thought the forum was broken :)

I was running a lttle behind this morning http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r197/tomandrobin/smileys/wink.gif . But have been hitting the boards since my change in routine.
I am normally up by 5:30, hit the treadmill and am online by 6:30am most mornings.

I'm in Central time - and it's still a slow morning until about 9am!
Living on the west coast (especially being a night owl)... everyone back east is sleeping when I generally post... so I have much fewer "interactive" discussions. This week on EDT has been quite different.

Hi Jim I am somewhat of a night owl and on Central time. There are not many of us that post after 9 Central so i always welcome those of you that are on the west coast.
So are you in DC for fun?

So are you in DC for fun?
Elaine,
Not fun... work. I've been at a 2 day board meeting for an organization of which I am a director. I am currently sitting in the IAD Red Carpet Room... on my way home. :)
I littlerally have been traveling nearly non-stop since March 31st. I think I only spent 2 nights in my own bed since then. In sequence: Portland - Shanghai - Orlando (9 nights) - Tokyo - Portland (2 nights) - SF - Depoe Bay OR (7 nights) - NYC - Bend OR (2 nights) - DC.
I will spend tonight at home again (1 night) before I head to Seaside OR for a 3 night weekend... and then straight to SF for another board meeting.
Luckily... DW has been with me for the Orlando, and all Oregon trips (marked with # nights in parenthesis above). We spend most weekends in our other timeshare looking at the ocean. We also spend eight weeks/year at the coast (working from home). I find that to be good for the mental health.

OK... back home ;)
When we moved here from Massachusetts in 1994... we told DD1 (age 12 at the time) that one of the advantages of the west coast was that she could now stay up an extra 3 hours every night... and sleep in an extra 3 hours every morning ;)
She didn't buy it!
