Here's a couple of things I learned while using Photopass on this recent trip.

There are only three places in which you can view photos from all parks on your Photopass card. They are the Grand Floridian, the camera store underneath Spaceship Earth, and the photo store in Toontown at MK. All the other photo stores can only pull up the photos from that specific park.

Another thing, is if your travelling as a group, it is best to have just one photopass card. Obviously, families will generally only do one but, if you're with a group of friends, it's best to get one card. That way, if you want to buy the photopass CD, it's much more economical to do so.

Thanks I didn't know you could check all the parks at those locations!

ALso, just wanted to add, if it's a picture you REALLY want, ask the photographer to use your camera too. (Or have someone else take it too) We learned the hard way that Photopass doesn't always work right :(

Thanks for the tips - hopefully someday the attractions pictures will be "photopassable" as well

cheers

That is great to know. I have always been frustrated about only looking at the specific park pictures. Thanks for the tip.

Well, the CD itself is $100. Pricey but, worth it if you want to print out a bunch of pictures. At least with the CD, you can (at home) print out the sizes and quantities you want instead of whatever packages Disney has. The photopass CD will have EVERY picture that you had taken with your photopass card on it. If you had 100 pivtures taken, you'll get a CD with 100 pictures on it.

Can you buy the CD at any of the photopass locations? Or do you have to order and they send it to you?

Just curious, would that include pics taken on the same photopass from different trips? We use the same card all the time but the photopass web site says they only store the pics for 30 days (or something like that)

I guess what I'm asking is, if I buy the CD, would it have pictures from our May 2005, October 2005 and other trips on it, or do they not store those after a period of time?

Ok, I'm confusing myself now! :veryconfu

That CD sounds like my ultimate souvie! It would work so well with my DVD slideshows - the scanned pics just aren't as good. We'll have to get 100 pics on our next trip and really make it worth it. Gma and Gpa will be there - maybe they'll pitch in on the $$....

you can buy the CD at the photo shops. If you don't want to buy it there, you should be able to buy it online after.

They wouldn't store them for future trips. I think I remember them saying that after we bough the CD, we could still add photos for up to a week.

Is it possible to get 100 photo pass pics? I usually only see those guys at the entrance to the parks - - or near the castle...

if they are "everywhere" maybe I'll just forgo the camera entirely!

My niece is coming on this trip - she's a grad student and this will be her first trip. The reason I mention is that I sent her some links - and she was "oh, I have to have my picture taken by the Star Wars ... blah blah blah..." she used the right words for that racing bike thing... i suppose there won't be a photog over there, so I will need my camera!!

3 weeks - can't wait!!!!

I know they have them at many of the character meet n greet locations. All of the locations where you would expect to see a human Disney photog will use PhotoPass.

Bear in mind that this does not include many of the lesser character greeting areas like when you see them just inside the train station at the MK or around Mickey's hat at MGM.

I also don't think I've ever seen any at character meals

In places like Toontown, Al's Toy Barn, Sorcerer Mickey at MGM, The Incredibles in the animation building and Camp Minnie / Mickey, they should have photopass-enabled photographers on hand.

ahhhhhhh! of course! We haven't waited in a character line in so long, I'd forgotten about those!!!

I really want to take advantage of photo pass... if i were a photog i would be wandering all over the World Showcase - so many photo ops in there!!

And, you could buy a darn nice camera if you don't spend the $$ for 100 Photopass pics...

Price per Photopass pic is with the usual Disney mark-up.

that is very true - the problem is that unless i get the photog to take a pic, i am rarely in any... not that i'm vain - far from it!! I would just like to see myself with the family for a change! ha ha!

If you were buying prints, that's certainly true. But $100 for a CD with all of the pics isn't totally outrageous.

I know that feeling Sue! Pics of me are by no means great, but it is nice to have a few!

Just a bit of photopass trivia. My son and husband both have the exact camera that the photographers use, so on our last couple of trips, they have gotten into a lot of conversations with the photographers about the camera and how they like using it, etc. The photographers are on an internship type program, and if they fulfill their obligation to Disney for length of stay commited, etc., then at the end of their intership, the camera they were given to use is theirs to keep. Pretty cool deal since that camera is what I consider an expensive one. Mind you these CM's are not being paid the best, but they certainly have a nice perk at the end of their program.
