With thanks to Greenban, I'm going to try to copy and paste my review of this (complete with photos-
on 5/3, I got to do the sunset/Wanyama safari. Yes, non-concierge guests can take it, but we pay $50 more. We met at Jiko's and immediately were given bottled water for our trip. There were 11 of us (we were told that the limit was 15) and we boarded a truck for our tour-

One of the best parts was in the first safari, how curious the giraffes were-

We also saw the baby zebra-

and I got to check out the DVC construction progress-

We spent about 20-30 minutes on each savannah, and on the way back, we stopped and had a snack (Grrr-I accidently deleted that photo). Then we had dinner in Jiko's. We were seated at a large table in the main part of the resturant, and were served several appetizers, 3 main courses, and 3 desserts, all family style. Also, there was a separate wine offering for each course. Dinner took longer than the safari-about 1.25 hours for the safari, but then over 2 hours for dessert. One couple at our table had paid for a babysitter while they did the safari, I can imagine their total bill! Although I loved it, I'm not anxious to repeat it-but it was truly a "once-in-a-lifetime" experience.

Great pictures Dorothy. Looks like the giraffes was close enough it could have climbed in the truck with you.
Glad you enjoyed it.

We must have just missed you. We did this on May 5th, I believe. It was just as you describe. We did stay concierge. I just loved our stay. I am sold on Concierge. We actually had a Giraffe stick his head in our vehicle. I took so many pictures. My husband said I must have take 100 of the Giraffes! We did the sunrise on the 8th. It was wonderful also! Just a wonderful trip.

OMG-May 5th was my original date. If I'd known you were going to be there, I wouldn't have changed. How cool would that have been to share the sunset safari with another Mouseowner. But for some reason, I changed at the last minute to Saturday, May 3.

You are so sweet to say that! I was checking everyone out to see if I could recongnize anyone by what they were saying, finally I did ask one couple! Was that not the best trip! I loved it! Our meal at Jikos was the best!

The meal at Jiko's would have been so much better if I hadn't had to share the fish w/sweet potato crispies and the pistachio creme brulee. I just wanted to take those big dishes and park them right in front of me-but somehow I don't think the other people would have appreciated that!

I know, I really tried to behave at this meal. We had the author of Clifford the Big Red Dog on our Safari, so I didn't want to be a food hog!:hahahaha: She was on her Honeymoon.
