So what folks here own Ipods and do you subscribe to any podcasts? I just picked up a new black 30 gig video ipod and love the new video features. I am subscribed to mousetunes WDW today Radio Disney WDW and inside the magic. I also have mouseguest weekly. This question is for the owners and mods what do you think about a mouseowners podcast dedicated to DVC and the ins and outs etc of the program?

I have a nano and I do download podcasts. Let's see if I can remember what all I get: Disney Insider; Magical Theme Park Podcast; and Gears Behind the Ears.

Some of the podcasts are just too long for me to want to spend the time to listen to.

I also do not like using the ear buds that came with the nano. I have a great set of headphones by Sennheiser, but I would like to find something inbetween the two sizes. I would listen when I walk with hubby, but the Sennheiser's are a little bigger tghan I want to be wearing while walking thru the mall.

I am not a big fan of hte earbuds either I have a set of wrap around headphones I can't remember who makes them but they were about 70 bucks much much better sound than the ipod earbuds. I would think a mosepowners podcast would be great have a weekly or bi weekly show where we answer e mail questions from people and talk about DVC and updates and rumours etc.

I wrote a brief piece on Disney Podcasting for the website which can be found here:

http://www.mouseowners.com/Podcasts.html

The podcasts on that page are the ones to which I subscribe. I've tried others, but rarely find time to even listen to these. My favorites are Inside the Magic and the official WDW podcast. The official one is surprisingly well done. ITM has a nice variety of features, and I like the fact that they only do one show weekly. I don't have the time for some of these that broadcast too frequently.

I did want to quickly mention for the sake of everyone reading this that you do NOT need to have an iPod to enjoy the world of podcasting. In fact, it costs absolutely nothing.

The easiest way to get in on podcasting is to download the latest version of iTunes (free) from www.itunes.com. It works on both PCs and Macs. Once installed, you can literally access a podcast directory via the iTunes store. Search the store for a topic like "Disney" and you'll get dozens of hits, including the feeds mentioned here.

I haven't suscribed to a podcast yet but, I've just been lazy. However, down the road, I think it would be nice if we could have our own podcast here. Certainly, things don't change very frequently for DVC. So, maybe a monthly podcast or something like that.

That would be a great idea LC even a members input section for things to discuss on the podcast you know maybe we poll teh members for ideas or topics etc and use the combined knowledge of everyone for input and ideas.

Very good poonts especially the one I highlighted many people don't realize that you don't actually have an ipod to listen to podcasts thanks for pointing that out to those members that may want to listen to them that may not have the ipod to do so on the go they can listen at home right on their PC/Mac.

That sounds very cool. Are you volunteering DSNY FN? I ave know idea what it takes to host a podcast, though. Seeing as things do not change that often, though, ther sohould not be a need to change them that often.
