This is probably a ridiculous question that I should know the answer to, but how far in advance can you book a cash reservation? If I want to book 6 nights at my home resort but only have points for 3 nights, can I secure the remaining nights in cash at 11 months and switch to non home resort points at 7 months or can I only book 3 nts with my home resort pts at the 11 month mark and then take my chances that the remaining nights will be available at 7 months? Am I making sense at this point or have I officially lost it??? :faint:

I just booked at 11 months and also reserved a Saturday night for cash. IF/when we get closer and I have the points available (I'm holding onto a few this year just in case), then I may switch out the cash ressie and use points.

But probably not the Saturday cash price for a 1br was only $123!

So, yes, you can make the cash ressie at the same 11 month window when you make the point ressie. If you feel like changing from cash to points later on, just call and see what happens.

Getting a cash reservation (booked through MS) just depends on availability. Sometimes, cash nights are available at 11 months, but not always. We never really know when MS will decide to allow cash reservations.

Sometimes you can get a 25% member cash discount (off rack rates) when you book cash nights through MS.

Booking cash nights has nothing to do with home resort or non home resort. You can book cash nights (if available) at a non home resort before the 7 month window opens.

Wow! $123 for a night in a 1 bedroom is a STEAL! Mind telling us what resort and what month (season) it's for?

I'm assuming that the $123 is after a 25% discount and doesn't include tax, but STILL!

HHI in March. Yes it is after the discount and yes, before the taxes.

Many thanks to both of you for all the great info. Excellent deal on that 1 bedroom - enjoy!
