I saw an ad in Ebay for DVC (50 points AKV) for less than $2000. I do not think it is thru Gmac
sounds too good to be true, any heads up? :chat:

That auction appears to be from a private seller and think that it will get a lot higher in the next week! Remember, even if you buy it at less than $2000 DVC will use their Right of First Refusal. I have no idea what that is right now for AKV, but it's a lot more than the $25 per point the auction is at now!

Is there really any advantage for a "buyer" to go direct? With ROFR... it is not clear that you will save any money... and you don't have the experience of a reseller to work the process for you.

It is already up to $3750! I suspect that there was a pretty substantial reserve price.

Would not be worth the hassle to me.

In addition, you cannot tell from the site whether or not it is a stripped contract.

There is no reserve on the auction and while I would not consider the contract great, it's not totally stripped either. It appears to be a June UY with 27 2007 points banked into 2008 with 0 2008 points coming in June and 50 2009 points coming next year.

The bidding is up to $3750 now (about $75 per point). What is the going rate for AKV right now, closer to $90?

The listing sold for $4450! $89 a point.

Interesting way to sell a small contract and pay no fees to a reseller. It worked out for them, but I would be afraid no to get enough on ebay.

I wonder if it will pass ROFR?

With closing costs of $450, that takes the total price to $98 per point. What would it cost a current DVC member to buy a 50 point add-on since there are no closing costs? Are small add-ons at $104 or are their specials which take it to less than $98?
