Hi -

We will be staying at the AKV for the first time from October 1-5. We have two boys aged 5 and 2.
Could anyone help with identifying any "special" things that we might be able to see/do being guests of the lodge/villas?
For example, I have heard of things like the Sunrise Safari (think that is only for Concierge level) and also night vision goggles (which I think anyone can do?)
As this will be our first time staying at the AK lodge, we are blocking time on our agenda to just enjoy the hotel.

Thanks!

Have stayed their twice and can not help on this. Am going back in June with Grand Gathering of friends for their first trip and would love to have this info myself.

It is not special or unique but just thought I would tell you how much we love Boma's! We usually stay at VWL but always plan at dinner at Boma's on every trip. We love the feel of AKV. Let us know what you think! We have never stayed there but we hope to in 09.

Anyone staying at AKV/AKL can do the Sunset Safari, but if you're not staying in Concierge the price is higher (I think it's $210 per adult, not sure if it's the same for children). I think it includes a dinner at Jiko.

There's also a "Bush Camp" or something like that for kids age 5-12. I was going to sign up my DS for it in October. Also, they have nighttime fireside story telling.

Isn't the Sunset Safari limited to guest aged 8 and over or something like that? The OP's children would be too young to go on that, plus the younger one would be too young for the Kid's Club at AKL/AKV.
