Dilema, what are my chances? BWV.....

Okay, the mother's (or actually mine) has decided they would like to stay within walking distance of Epcot for the Jan 07 trip.

The Dilema:

I am into my 07 points, and having trouble finding BWV points to rent/transfer to avoid dipping anymore.

What would my chances be of booking at SSR at 11mths and switching at 7mths for a 2 BR Preferred view, Jan 14-19??? (I really would like to avoid this, but no luck finding some BWV points right now to have transferred)

So penny for your thoughts??? Should I forget BWV at 7 mths? I realize Jan has gotten to be pretty popular with the low points. Thanks for advance any insight.

I think you have a reasonable chance - last time we travelled in Jan/04 we were able to do lots of switching even within the 30 day window

The only caveat is more and more SSR owners = more competition for the smaller resorts

We too are into some of our 07 points as well - we have a mixed bag of 05UY to bank, 06UY banked, not banked and 07UY borrowed

If your vacation was the next week I'd feel almost certain you would get the room, (as long as you weren't looking for guaranteed BW view). But the week you are talking about is Martin Luther King's Birthday week, and any time there are 3 day weekends the resorts fill up faster.

I'd borrow the '07 points if you have enough BW points to do so, but that's just me, I know lots of folks don't like to get in point debt.

I am looking into getting into BWV for Jan 07 as well. Your dates are a little before mine so let me know how it works out for you at the 7 month window.

I am going to book home (SSR) at the end of this month and switch out at 7 months. However I would like a BW view. We are going Jan 22- 26 or Jan 23-27, will know more this weekend.

crap, I didn't even think about it being MLK. The 14th is DH's birthday, and he has never been on his bday, or I would change it in a minute. Rats, I kinda wanted a quiet week. But I also all ready put in the time at work, and I will be lucky to get that time off.

I have decided to go ahead and book at SSR at 11mths, and if they don't like it, well tough cookies, it's a free 2 BR, what else do I have to do to please em'???:scratchch
