And I have 5 days until I leave for WDW. I'm so scared I'm going to catch this horrible thing going around our office. As an aside, why do people insist on coming to work and infect everyone, coughing and sneezing, spreading the wealth of germs. Any ideas of how to fend this thing off? I don't need this on my solo trip.

YES! Get out of the office and stay away from the sickies. And definately don't bring it with you to WDW or we'll banish you to the black hole..... forever....

It happened to me... and I did go to WDW with it.

I was on a horrible biz trip.... Portland - Shanghai - Orlando - Tokyo - Portland I got sick in Shanghai... and I basically slept through most of the Orlando portion of the trip... with DW as my nurse... rather than vacation partner.

Call in sick as a preventive measure. :)

Or, where gloves and face mask all day. :) :)

tamiflu is a prescription drug that can be used for prophylaxis.

see you doctor. on the other hand, if you are wrong and it isn't the flu, it will be of no benefit.

I am so glad I work at home... if only the people at DS's preschool kept their sick kids home!!! I hope it doesn't ruin your trip... drink lots of fluid and get a good night's sleep... it might bypass you! If not, try and make the best of your trip!

I wish you some pixie dust for a healthy journey :dust

My DH would say if your coming down with cold "have a Guinness for strength" :ale:
(His cure, I think just an excuse for a beer)

But his second advise, if you pass on the Guinness, is Green Tea :coffee1:

Simba's Mom,
I was sick for a 2 week period before our most recent trip to Florida. I worried like crazy that I would infect my family. I made them take vitamin C and airborne(who knows if that really works) and I confined myself away from the family! When I returned to work, 2 people were terribly sick. I was very upset that they were working while so sick and was afraid I would catch another strain of the flu!!
Use good handwashing hygiene around them and the things that they come in contact with!
I'll send pixie dust your way!
