Hi there! I am new to the site and ownership as well! Anyone have insight as to what locations are "best" at SSR? We have a 2year old and 4 year old so hoping to find something that is close to the pool, but close to the buses too? Does that even exist? Just want to eliminate the walking factor as much as possible to save up energy for the parks!
Thanks so much!

Request The Springs Section - It is right across from the Main Pool.

Or request the Grandstand location close to the carraige house. It has a themed pool as well, it is the first bus stop (so you get a seat) & is just as close as the Springs section if you can get one of the two buildings that are close to the carraige house.
By the way :welcome: to mouseowners.

:welcome: to MouseOwners!! and :welcome: home to DVC .
Unfortunately, you've asked a hard question as each section of SSR has its plusses and minuses. Here's my order of preference.
Congress Park has a very nice quiet pool and most rooms have Downtown Disney views.
Springs is closest to the main pool and building, but some people like to be a little more removed.
Grandstand has a very nice feature pool and children's interactive water play area that's themed on a Saratoga race track. I think they also have beverage service by the pool. Some of the room can be as convenient to the Carriage House as anywhere, and some can be quite removed.
Paddock is more distant from everything and has a smaller quiet pool - nice, but tiny.
Carousel has no pool and is the most removed. Some might like it for isolation, but that's the one place I wouldn't enjoy.

Each of the sections has a bus stop, so you're not too far from a bus stop anyplace you stay. Carousel is the closest to the front entrance, no pool at Carousel (but not too far from the Springs). If you want quiet (but pretty much the entire place is quiet), Carousel will be the quietest.
Paddocks is closest to DTD without a view of DTD (Congress Park has that honor) and both Paddocks and Congress park have their own pool.
Springs and Grandstand both have a themed pool with Springs probably being the closest to to the main checkin and Artist's Palette.

I have a 3 and 5 year old and we stayed in the Springs when we just went in March. It was perfect for us-- just a hop across the street to the main pool and the restaurants and the bus stop was right there (although there are bus stops at all of the sections...). My kids loved the zero entry and the Donald sprinkler. Although a bit more crowded than the other pools and areas since it's kind of the hub of the resort, our room was ALWAYS quiet and we never felt crowded. With the kids it was just convenient-- especially to grab breakfast then hop on the bus for the day. Hope this helps!
