Operation snowball. A miniute to minute update from those FROZEN DVCers affected by the 'Blizzard'
Nothing in Sparta NJ right now. No snow at 16:00.
Now back to my empty, lonely, boring and yet strangely satisfying life!

Started snowing here (Norwood...just south of Phila. airport) a couple of hours ago. Right now it has stopped. Not much on the ground and nothing staying on the roads yet. Sure would be nice if they got it wrong about the big blizzard.

What amounts of snow they predicting in NY & NJ? We usually get what they get just a couple of hours later. They are predicting 15 inches or so here. I would sure love it if they were wrong again. They've already got the parking ban on here in my city w/no snow in site.

They're calling for 10-12 for us - at least they were this morning. Been snowing a few hours now but the roads are still clear. Maybe an inch on the ground. It's 7:50 PM SJT ( South Jersey Time ).

We have a blizzard warning here. It was beautiful all day. Snow started falling about 5pm. It's still snowing now but seems to be melting already, not much sticking at all.
We're expected to get about 6-10 inches. DD has already been walking around in her Princess snowboots  I don't really know why since she's never really experienced snow yet LOL

Thanks for the update, folks!
Here just North of Boston, nothing, not a snow flake in sight yet. at 8:17pm.
Darn parking ban is bad for my love life:laughing: , got no room for either of our cars at either of our houses..should be snowing by the time he gets out of work tonight, so sense in risking driving in the snow just to pick the other one up.
Well, according to Accuweather and Weather.com, it's been snowing in Wildwood since 3 p.m. Guess no one told the clouds. Still all rain. Boo!

23:30 in Long Island, western end, and we have about an inch at this point. It was snowing for hours without sticking, and then at about 9 it began to build up. They are predicting 8-12 inches now, just watched the latest forecast. The snow is blizzard-like (well maybe it's an actual blizzard), small fine particles blowing all over and falling quickly.
I checked out my snowblower earlier, it started on the first pull, so I should be OK over here. A big snowstorm now and then can actually be kinda fun, and it sure is pretty. I stocked up on birdseed and filled our feeders. We have sliding glass doors that lead to our yard, and there's a great view of the feeders from my kitchen table. Snow storms always bring a lot more birds than usual to the feeders. After I plow the snow I'll have cup of hot chocolate and watch the birdies. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday. :sunny:

Well, it's 7:56am here in Beantown, and we've got about 5 inches or so but it is going to snow all day. And they are still predicting 8-14 inches when all is said and done:holymoly:
This should be the last snow storm before I move and then I'll have to start shovelling myself in the new place:headbange
It rained all night. Finally around 5 a.m. or so, it must have switched over to snow. Still have cable and satellite, but the winds are very high, and the lines are now very weighted with ice, so we may be without power at some point. We're charging up everything now so we can stay entertained. :) With the wind so high, I can't rely on just staying outside the whole day and playing!

I'm bummed!
We only have 6 inches of accumulation. Newton, NJ (4miles away) supposedly has 9 and Patterson has 17. We usually get more than they do. I'm feeling robbed. Plus we have no blizzard conditions!
Does anyone know, can I sue the forcasters for let down (my kids are bummed too!)

Snowless in Sparta
Hey, at least you have hills, Tony! You know where we get to sled? The ramps off the boardwalk. :tearsaref

Well, it's 9:30 am SJT and the snow has stopped -at least for now. We have around 6 on the ground. What is going to be bad though is underneath it's all mushy & wet. The temps are supposed to be in the teens tonite so we'll probably have a sheet of ice under the snow.
Nono... are you in the Crest, Wildwood or N.Wildwood ?
Is Sam's rebuilding their pizza joint and hotel ?

It's 9:40 here in good old Pa and still snowing. The winds have died down a lot now. Whenever we have a lot of wind during a snowstorm I always end up with twice as much snow to shovel. The road curves right where our house is and the snow drifts right in front of my house. Right now I can't even open my front door. And, it's suppose to snow all day. Well, just snow showers later. We live on a circle so we don't get plowed until last. When we had the 30 inch snow they didn't get back to us for two days. Well, at least we don't have to go to work today.

Wow, I guess I am the winner--or the loser depending on how you look at it! We got 9 inches so far in Western Nassau, it shows no signs of stopping and they are now saying they expect accumulations of (holy moley) up to 24 inches! If it does get to 24 inches it will be the most snow I have had in my 23 years of living here (I think, at least I don't recall any other storm that had more).

I am so jealous.
I love snow. We live in the snow belt in Northern Indiana and we have had maybe a foot all winter.
Send some my way.
Although, a smile did creep onto my face when we got up this morning and our official countdown calendar was sitting at 69 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I've spent enough time talking about the snow. Time to get out and take a walk in the stuff.

Good luck to all you snowy people. I don't envy you. I hope no one loses power - and that you don't have any of the other major headaches snowstorms can bring. Be safe.

Well, according to the weather channel, we've got 13.5 inches of snow. And it should stop snowing by 7. And I lucked out, I didn't even have to shovel. We have a convenient store in our building and the owner shovelled me all out!!:cheerlead By the time the plows came there was nothing for them to do..lol
OT-the owner of the store also offered to take care of my move next month, he is moving everything for me to the new house, for free:cheerlead
And the furniture that I am getting rid of, I am giving to a friend of his that is in real financial trouble right now and doesn't have much:flowerfor

16 inches at my house in the "safest city in America". Now with the full moon, and the snow dying down and everthing pretty much cleared out, it is just beautiful out.
We had hosted an 80th birthday party for my father yesterday, so we had me, my brother, my dad and my 6 yr old DD all out shoveling at the same time. I was great fun; I got pictures. We shoveled out at about 11, so we had to do it all again around 4:30 after getting the last 4-5 inches.
