Can anyone tell me the benefits of concierge? Especially at AKV. Thinking of staying there but I can't find anything out regarding concierge and what exactly I would get. What about other resorts at the concierge level is it really better?

Killimanjaro Club Concierge villas provide concierge services and either a Savanna or Pool View. Only 5 Concierge units exist at AKV (3 face the Sunset savanna and 2 face the pool); they are all 2-BR lockoffs, for a maximum of 10 rooms if broken up into 1-BR and Studios. Unlike all other DVC accommodations, these rooms get daily housekeeping service and evening turndown with chocolates.
With Concierge, you get:
Advanced Walt Disney World itinerary planning service
Personalized front desk and Concierge service
Daily housekeeping service and evening turndown with chocolates
Secured key access to 6th floor and Club Level lounge
Assistance with special events planning and shopping
Club Level Lounge refreshments
Ability to book Sunrise Safari at AK and Sunset Safari at AKLThe Sunrise Safari Breakfast Adventure is exclusive to concierge guests staying at AKL/AKV.

AKV is the only DVC resort with concierge level. None of the other DVC resorts have concierge. You can get concierge level at GF, Contemporary, YC, Polynesian, but the points will be a lot higher, you won't get a villa (only a hotel room) and you will have to pay the $95 booking fee since they aren't DVC.

Are you sure. We had a few points to use and stayed at Grand Floridian one night. We did not pay booking fee. Just traded points.

Yes, turn down is nice IF you get it. We stayed CL at AKV in March and only actually got the turn down service one night. Not that it made that much difference. I could take it or leave it, but I was a little hacked that it just went undone without any notice of why. The first night, I figured it was because they actually came to do at 4pm, and one of us was in the shower while the other was getting dressed. The housekeeper knocked and entered before being answered and walked in on DH in the bedroom. Maybe she got spooked about it after that!:D

Just got back from concierge level at AKV last week. I really enjoyed it and we saved a bunch on money since we ate breakfast and dinner in the concierge lobby. (Not to mention all the money I saved on chocolate chip cookies) I was with my mom, sister and niece and the "dinner" snacks were enough to fill us up and leave room for a treat at the park that night... One night I wasn't feeling well and my mom asked how I was in front of one of the cast members... next thing I knew I had a bag with 3 cans of ginger ale and 2 bottles of water... it was a nice touch. I would highly recommend trying it at least once. And we really enjoyed the sunrise safari!:doublejum:thumbsup:
