One of the best features of this map is the location of the standard and value rooms.

Any idea why they are considered value? That is a great map, thanks!

Great map. Suggest making it a permanent sticky over on the thread with DVC layouts.

Just got back yesterday from a week in WDW. My daughter and I were able to spend last Saturday night in one of the value studios. It was amazing. I was very impressed. We had a Savannna view. I loved being in the main lodge area. The only reason I can think of that it would be considered a value is because it does not have a closet. It has a wardrobe that you can hang clothes in. We left AKV and checked in at WLV for the remainder of our stay. WLV is nice, but after AKV I was a bit dissapointed. We had room 4562, which was the last room at the end of the corridor and it had a charming view of the dumpster and used towels. The studio at WLV is larger than the value studio at AKV and the studio at SSR.
I want to do an add on at AKV so I can get the 11 month window to book the value studios. The pictures of AKV do not do it justice. The furniture and attention to detail is beautiful, and being in the main lodge is very convenient.

Are any of the Savannah view rooms "bad views" ? Are some savannah's better than others during certain times of the day?

This map just shows the "units" that have been declared into the AKV condo association. It does not show the actual room numbers. It was created by LisaS to show the various units as they were declared by DVC.
The 134 units in Jambo House consist of:
46 Dedicated Studios
82 2-Bedroom "Lock-offs" (i.e., can be broken up into a Studio and a 1-BR)
6 Grand Villas - 1 storyIf you break-up all the 2-BR lockoffs into Studio and 1-BR rooms, there would be a total of 216 rooms at Jambo House.

Where is Zebra trail?
Thanks!
Zebra trail rooms overlook the Arusha savannah (odd number rooms) and the Uzima Savannah (even number rooms). Kudu trail rooms overlook Arusha Savannah (odd number rooms) or Sunset Savannah (even number rooms). Even numbered rooms in Ostrich Trail will overlook Sunset Savannah, while the odd number rooms overlook the valet area. On Giraffe Trail, the even number rooms will overlook the pool, while the odd number rooms overlook the valet area.

The map does indicate the location of two bedroom units, grand villas and dedicated studios. In Jambo House there are not any dedicated two bedroom untis. So everyplace on the map that lists a two bedroom is a "lock-off".

What would be better -
Zebra Trail Uzima or Kudo Trail Arusha?
(We spend alot of time in the pool.)
I'm assuming Zebra Trail Arusha is the better spot?
Does Uzima have as many animals on it as Arusha?
Thanks!

We've stayed twice in the pod that overlooks the pool on one side and the Uzima savannah on the other, both times with Uzima views. Personally, we like it from that angle - the giraffes are fairly active and you get a good view of animals throughout the day. The problem is in the early AM when the sun is towards you, which makes photos hard (backlighting). Afternoons and evening are perfect.
Arusha savannah has zebras and ostriches, which Uzima doesn't. Otherwise, they're pretty much the same. Personally, I would take any Zebra trail room for savannah view or proximity to pool. We stay in studios, so the closer access to laundry and Mara is also helpful.
A word of warning, if you are at the end of Zebra trail or Kudu trail, you will no longer think Boardwalk has the longest hallways . . .

Does anyone know if the villas are numbered the same as when they were resort rooms? I had a fifth floor resort room prior to the DVC conversion that I just loved. DOes anyone know-if I ask about its' availability when I check in, would the same room # give me the same room (although I know this is a long shot)?

Each Savanah is different in vegetation and animals. Here is what in each Savanah:
Sunset Savannah: Male Giraffe, Bongo, Impala, Thompsons Gazelles, Ostrich, Ankole Cattle, Waterbuck, African crown cranes, stork and blue cranes.
Arusha Savannah: Pelicans, geese, giraffe, ankole cattle, zebra, Wildebeast, eland, gemsbok
Uzima Savannah: Giraffe, Impala, Kudu, Bongo, Blesbok, Thompsons GazellesThe new zebra "Kidani" is in the Sunset Savanah.
Where the rooms face:
Zebra trail rooms overlook the Arusha savannah (odd number rooms) and the Uzima Savannah (even number rooms). Kudu trail rooms overlook Arusha Savannah (odd number rooms) or Sunset Savannah (even number rooms). Even numbered rooms in Ostrich Trail will overlook Sunset Savannah, while the odd number rooms overlook the valet area. On Giraffe Trail, the even number rooms will overlook the pool, while the odd number rooms overlook the valet area.

I was right across the hall from you in 4561 from 4/11-4/19! Yes, it was a very long walk down that hallway!
