We will be at Disney in October from the 7th till the 14th.
1. Our kids are 6 and 3 wich park is geared for the younger set BB or TL?
2. Columbus Day is the day we have planned for a water park, is that crazy or a good idea?
3. We will be back again November 25th till Dec 4th, is there still weather (ie. hot enough and the water is still warm) to do the water parks?
Thanks for all the help.

I think TL is supposed to be more child friendly - it has fewer thrill slides and a nice play area - but I don't have kids, and I've only been to TL.

2. Columbus Day is the day we have planned for a water park, is that crazy or a good idea?
I would worry about the locals. I think the vacation travelers will either use that day as a park day or a travel day. Overall, earlier in the week is often better because people usually arrive on weekends and want to his the parks before the water parks. Unofficial Guide says Thursday is the busiest day of the week for the water parks.

The water is heated, but it depends on the ambient temperature for us. We were there over those dates in 2006 and swam every day quite happily. It can vary by year, or even by day of week at the time of year, though. I would construct a schedule that allowed you to switch your water park day based on weather forecast.

We swan the 3rd week of December, it was perfect weather wise.

I wholeheartedly prefer TL to BB. Mostly because of the theming. BB is hard on my eyes. In the bright sunshine all that blue & white throws off quite a glare.

TL is relaxed, green, & shady, it feels more laid back to me, more like vacation! :Pinkflami

I must say the family raft ride at BB is better than the one at TL though.

We like both of the parks. TL might be more small kid friendly, but its a preference thing. October should be good for the Water Parks, but in December one of the parks may be closed for refurbishment.

I've always thought TL over BB for small kids but my kids like BB better because the wave pool is more gentle and the family raft ride is better. (and I have weeny kids - none of them would do roller coasters until they were like 13-14 - our 10yo still won't do thrill rides or anything that looks scary. I have no idea what I did to them to make them so wary of rides :idontgeti ) Chip (17mo) has no opinion yet.

Thanks for all the help. Are there any height requirements to do things at either park?
We might have to roll the dice on the actual water park day or days. We will probably upgrade to PAP's so we don't feel pressured to stay if it is crazy crowded or one of the kids is having a tough day.
And Dirk these sound like wise words "I would construct a schedule that allowed you to switch your water park day based on weather forecast."
Any other suggestions are appreciated.

There are height requirements for the bigger slides and such. The WDW website should have that info under water parks.

My kids like both, but DD being a slide chicken found lots to do at TL.
They both have great play areas for kids. I agree with others that BB can be hard on the eyes though, wear sunglasses!

The lazy rivers at both would be fun with kids your age as would the family raft ride. BB has a great family raft ride, but TL can be fun also. Just not nearly as long.
