View Full Version : Talked to a newer DVC guy....
...at one of the kiosks yesterday. He indicated that he thought that there would be either an announcement of SSR being close to sold out at the end of this calendar year. He was basing this on his own recent purchase and where his contract sat in the scheme of the overall points. However, he did mention the next price increase and how that could have a slowing effect on the pacing of contracts.
So, there you have it. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!:cool2:

Well, you know how much we love nothing here. hahaha.
Honestly, I don't think that the price increase will have much of an effect on slowing of DVC sales. It's only a $3 increase (although it does push it over the $100 barrier) and there will still be promotions going on so the final cost will remain below $100 per point.

It's amazing to hear that SSR could be close to sold out, given it's size. I think the "secret" is out!

This is one rumor I believe had merit. I don't think they would be raising the price if SSR was not close to selling out! Besides, they have to have those higher point prices in place for the CRV and HAV (Hawaii villas)!:upsidedow :fingerscr

I wonder if that's the entire resort or just Phase 1+2 (the original 12 buildings.)

That is Mistress Moderator to you!
I am betting that it is only Phase I and Phase II buildings. Maybe that is what the sign in for that hasn't been unveiled (or has it been unwrapped already?)....the 100,000 member maybe??? It would take several thousand more members to sell out SSR I bet. (did I miss it maybe???) (do you like how I have NO confidence in my rumor following??) (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa )

I spoke with my guide on Friday, and he said they are just now beginning to sell phase 3 of SSR. So, it could be that SSR WILL be completely sold out by the end of this year....I expect a CRV announcement any day!!
When is the price supposed to go up to $101?
:flowerfor
Beca
The man I spoke with said March 31 for the price increase, but for those of us existing DVCers, there's an extension until June ___ (I forget already!).

Cobbler, Phase 111 is the Paddocks. Not sure how many building there will be altogether but some are open now. In fact, when I was there in Nov, I had my choice of rooms, one in each area (including the Paddocks) but I really wanted the Springs.
Hoping my request of Congress Park gets met for upcoming trip, that will be better for dad.

Actually that's not quite true.
Phase 1 is the four buildings in the Congress Park area.
Phase 2 is the eight buildings that make up both The Springs and The Paddock. All 12 of these buildings are now open and accepting guests.
Phase 3 was a late addition to the resort. It prepresents another 6 buildings--two of them will be located between the guard house and The Paddock with the other 4 just north of the Carriage House with views of the LBV golf course.
Work on Phase 3 just began around May 2005, and the buildings are not scheduled to begin opening until some unspecified time in 2007. I've yet to even see any revised maps or artwork showing the layout of the Phase 3 construction, much less a name for these additional "neighborhoods" of the resort.

Oh, ok, thanks for clarifying that, Tim!:highfive:
Read my info somewhere, but it was obviously incorrect:coffee2:

I am not that good at math, so I don't know how to take the rumor I heard of this week. The rumor states that SSR and DVC in general is so popular that plans to double the size of SSR is in the works. If that takes into account the current open buildings ,or what the size was at Phase Two, I have no idea what formula is being used here.
I also read that Contemporary is getting Towers in place of some Garden rooms to house new DVC units in 7 years.
