60 Point Add-on Birthday Present!!!

We just added 60 points onto our VWL contract. I am so excited! It is my birthday so when my husband asked what I wanted... I said, "MORE POINTS"!! We are now the proud owners of 560 DVC points and we couldn't be happier. I think this is the best present ever! :clappingh:clappingh

I couldn't be more jealous right now! That is my dream resort! I want to own there SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SOOOOOOOOOOO SOOOOOOOOO BAD! I fell in love with it the first time I saw it! I've never been able to stay. That should tell you something...you owner hog it don't you!:(

How do you add points on to a resorth that is sold out? Are you able to add more points if you are already an owner at that resort or do you buy them through resale?

This is all very new to me!

Thanks for the birthday wish. To add on to your contract you must be an owner at the resort and have the same use year of the points that are available. You buy right from Disney. I called MS and they gave me the number of my salesperson. I called on Friday, he said there was alot of points availalbe at VWL for August use year and I gave him my credit card number. It was that easy. The points were in my contract and ready for use about 3 hours later. He is sending me the forms to sign and that is that. It depends on what resort and what UY you have. I also own at BWV but there was a wait list for points for August UY and I didn't want to wait.

DVC typically has points available for all the DVC resorts, and you can waitlist if they don't. An existing DVC owner can add-on points at any of the existing 8 DVC resorts, and not just at their initial home resort.

I was under the impression that I could only add on points to my existing home resorts. This gives me a bunch of different options for the future. Thanks for clearing this up for me.
