Have you seen them? I am considering having one made, and I want a Disney theme. I can do either 7 or 11 keys. If I do 11, I am thinking of using
I luv 2 go 2 WDW
not sure if I go with 7 and the 7 key-one was the nicest looking. so that is the direction I was leaning.
Any suggestions? It's kind of like thinking up a vanity plate for your car.
By they way, does anyone have a Disney vanity plate?
My VW Jetta tag says DISNY JET.

I have the New Jetta, how about you? I got package 2, and I just LOVE IT. It is my first new car in 15 years, drove a Volvo wagon all that time, and I just love my little Jetta. I am surprised I am not dead and/or have not gotten a ticket so far, the way this thing zip zips around. Black with graphite interior, how about you?

oooh we're turning the bracelet thread into a car thread!!!
VW Jetta, of course!! It's VW #5, and sadly the I am the only one left in the family who drives a German car.
It's actually an older model and I decided that it still has several years of life left. Since I am rarely home, it doesn't get taken out for a spin very often.
VW #4 saved my life - I was t-boned at high speed and lived to tell the tale. Sadly VW#4 did not survive.

I figured it was a Jetta from your response, I was asking if it was the "New" body style, which I now know it isn't.
It saved your life? Did you save a piece of the car? What a great testimonial.
So, you travel a lot, but not in your car?
I haven't taken mine for a trip to WDW yet, but I am anxious to see what kind of mileage I would get on the highway. Right now I am getting about 26-27 mpg just driving to work.
:coolcar: :coolcar: :coolcar:
O.K., now that we have established that we have great taste in cars, I need a typewriter key bracelet. Any ideas?
Oh, oh, oh, can I play?
The first new car I ever bought was a '90 Jetta, bright red with an awesome stereo upgrade. (Minor hearing loss today because of it.)
Lasted me 14 years with almost no trouble, just normal maintenance stuff. Had to let it go in '04, though wish I hadn't.
When I bought mine, my mom and sister both had them as well. Sis has moved on, mom is on her third and I'm sorely tempted to get a new one.

In case you have not figured it out already, I LOVE MY NEW JETTA. I highly recommend the new one with the cool display on the dash and all that stuff. I love the turn lane signal, and the auto windshield wipers and the auto lights and the heated seats and it goes sooooo zippity zip zip fast and best of all, "it fits me just right". :beatinghe my Disny Jet
I warn you if you go drive one, you will buy one.
now about that bracelet..................
Tell me about it!
Right after I posted I went to the VW website and built one!
But I didn't hit the "quote" button. I know I have very low resistance right now and DW would absolutely kill me.
I pass a dealership everyday to and from the office. It absolutely pains me to drive by.
ETA: Sorry to highjack your thread

you didn't highjack it, did it to myself.
All will be well if you come up with a great bracelet, just think vanity plate for that new jetta.

Where can I find the bracelet? I may need one too!!!!
My Jetta is the very last of the old boxy ones - I didn't like the 1998 - 2005 ones, but like the 2006 version. (And oddly I like the 1998-2005 station wagon, which was not sold in Canada for some reason)
But I'm keeping my trusty one around for a few more years - it gets to sleep in the garage and only goes out every couple of weeks so it should have lots of life left in it......

Here is a link to the one I really like. There are cheaper ones, but I think this looks classy.

If you aren't old enough to be familiar with this style typewriter, it may not mean as much to you, but I think these are a true piece of nostalgia.

As promised
(Hope that I am not violating any copyright rules etc but I couldn't find a photo of mine that quickly. I actually had two in my life) Probably not that you thought that I was going to post, hm?

o.k., that car is either really old or really new, like the new Thunderbird. The pic is too small for my old eyes to tell. So, areyou telling me that you are an "oldie but goldie" like me?

Here is the one I like that uses 11 keys:
http://www.twostoreydesign.com/jmt.htm#2
but I think the 7-key sterling one is a nicer looking piece of jewelry.
Now if you guys come up with something really catchy for the bracelet, you gotta share, o.k. ???????

Typewriter? what's a typewriter? :Pokepoke:
I like your choice of bracelet best - you're right, it looks much nicer than the other ones on the web.
My car was a Karmann Ghia - the VW sports car from the late 1950's - 1974. No, I didn't buy mine new as I would have been waaaaaaay too young to drive, they were vintage when I bought them. Most people my age have no clue what they are now, and they only seem to survive on the West Coast of North America.
i'll try and post a better picture if I find a photo of mine - maybe we can start a car thread!!!!

Now, see, Carrie, you have to get one of the last two.
I have no ideas, sorry, but I did want to weigh in and say that I also liked the 7 key one a lot better AND I had a friend in HS who had an awesome little Karmann Ghia, and used to take me driving a good bit which scared the heck out of my parents because he was a "young" driver in a tiny car, and an older guy to boot - not their favorite combo. And we were no where near the West Coast.
That is a cool bracelet, though. Now I'm thinking I may need one too...

It was a 4-door, too. The coolness factor was so not there. But I had wheels, man! And a cassette player!

Well, that's two more doors and a cassette player more than my Karmann Ghia's!!!

I didn't order yet. I just haven't done it. I figured if I keep thinking about it, then I really want it and it isn't just a waste of money. Funny you should ask now as I was looking at them on -ine again this past weekend.
I think I will get the sterling with 7 letters and will get I LUV WDW. I think that one looks the best, and I couldn't come up with anything else in the 7 letter range. I could do I LUV MM!
I am not only old enough to remember them, but old enough to have used them. So I have you guys beat, for sure.

I've been shopping for these all morning on the internet. I want to get one for my mom for Mother's Day. I thought some of the sample ones at the bottom of this auction are cute, so I thought I would share them with you.....

I hope she likes them. I really would have liked to have had something personalized for her, but since I'm such a procrastinator....... . Plus, $150 was a little out of my budget. I really liked the site that RWE is looking at. In all my searching I found a couple of Michaels do it yourself instruction sheets for the jewelry. I think I might check out our local michaels and try to buy some of the stuff and create a few for myself! Rozzie, I wouldn't want the wicked one either, but I love the one with Steamboat Willie that I can barely see in the background.
Bavaria- I'm soooo glad I could help you out. Be sure to post what you end up with. We all want to see it!!!:hahahaha:

Great job, Erin. I hope that they love them.
I have decided to ask for mine for Christmas. Hubby is always wanting some ideas and the bracelet I want is a little more than I would normally spend on myself, just because.
