How often does your waitlist request go through? We're waitlisted at VWL for a two bedroom for the end of Nov./early Dec. Should we be able to get it? Thanks!!!!

That's a tough time of year...high DVC demand due to the combination of holiday festivities and low points charts. Add to that VWL is a very small property, and it makes the waitlist harder to clear.

Do you have another reservation so that you definitely have a place to stay? Or are you willing to waitlist for additional DVC resorts?

Michelle, more details please! :reporter: When did you go on the waitlist (7 mo out, 4 mo out?) and for what time of year are you booking? The more complete details help newer members understand where things are possible and when they are more difficult.

Congrats on working the waitlist successfully!

I'm sorry I was so vague!
We planned a rather last minute trip (3 months out) to Boardwalk Villas for a Thu, Fri and Sat night in June. Though, Thursday was not availiable. After that, I joined this community and realized how much cooler the pool was at BCV and that you couldn't pool hop to Stormalong Bay. Not only that, but my DH is terrified of clowns. I switched my reservation over to the BCV, and AGAIN, no Thursday night, only Fri and Sat. I kept calling to ask if anything opened up for almost a week, then I got waitlisted. One week later, I saw a confirmed reservation for a two bedroom dedicated (2 queen beds in 2nd bedroom). Our reservations are linked so we don't have to switch rooms after Thursday night.
I got my waitlist request for a high season, it was confirmed yesterday and our trip is June 19th! How great is that!

We've got a 1 bedroom there right now. It will be me, DH and my parents. I know the 1 bedroom will be plenty big enough, it's just mainly a matter of comfort and not having to fight over the actual bed.:hahahaha: I'm hoping that this far out we'll get lucky and it will go through.

Michelle,

Thanks for the extra detail! Yeah, those weeknights are hardest to get eh?

Rotary,

Glad you have something booked already! Last year, for 1st week of Dec., I was in the same situation. Had a 1 br., but it was going to be 5 of us (baby included in the 5). It took until about 40 days out for me to clear to a 2 br for SSR, the largest property! However, I didn't go on the waitlist at the 7 month mark -- more like the 5 month mark... Each year is different though. :fingerscr Let us know if your waitlist comes through!!!!

You've picked probably the hardest time to get a reservation at the smallest DVC resort at WDW AND the most popular at the holiday time. Never say never, though. But I really don't think you have a good chance.

We got on the waitlist for an Oct two bedroom at SSR and it never came through. We were on the waitlist for at least five months. We had a one bedroom and wanted the extra space.

Will DVC call you if it clears the waitlist or should I just check online every once in awhile?

And if you check the Member's website 3 times a day to see if your waitlist came thru yet, you certainly won't be alone in doing that. I'm waitlisted for a BWV standard studio in October, and I check the member's website about that often. Not like I'm anxious or anything!

It's Disney, if you weren't anxious it just wouldn't be right.:hahahaha: Right now I've been checking it at least once a day. If it gets closer and it still hasn't gone through then I might start checking it more often.
