You should bring your own speakers for two reasons. One, our list of items in an AKV room on our main site list a clock radio/cd player, and pictures I've seen bear this out.
Two, iPhones are more difficult than iPods to plug into existing speakers systems. Unless those systems have been designed for the iPhone, you'll get interference from the iPhone. I have an old dock for viewing video on the TV, and an iHome clock/radio. When I put my iPhone in them, I have to put it an airplane mode to avoid having electronic interference buzz through the speaker system.
What speakers do you use? I'm thinking about portable speakers for mine . . .

I only have the iHome clock/radio. So I will have to go out and buy some portable speakers. Thank You for the info.

I don't know why I haven't thought about doing that. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah - I don't why it does that. Apparently th iPhone works with docking stations that aren't iPhone compatible, but you have the interference. The "Works with iPhone" tag generally means the product has been shielded to resist the interference.

We're here now. I have a 2nd generation iPod and have been using the Zenith "MP3 line-in" clock radio provided in our Value Studio. The MP3 line-in plugs into the headphone jack of my iPod, so no problems plugging in to the base of the iPod like I have with our iHome, which is designed for later generation iPods. Then again, I don't have an iPhone (yet) so YMMV!

Many speakers and/or portable stereo systems are very susceptible to cell phone noise. Many conference room speaker phones (ie: Polycoms) also seem to have the problem.
