Sue, I will try to get hubby to post some #55 view photos -- GORGEOUS. Although I recently posted about some issues I had with room #5511, I suppose the view made up for the rattiness of the room. #55 is secluded and pretty, with a breathtaking view of the canal out back. I also like the other buildings that face the canal... I am sorry I get the numbers mixed up. Some of the 50s face the canal and are really nice but the other ones, while pretty out front, face the ROAD out back and since the hurricanes there is not much foliage... So you kind of have to be careful about "which #50" you ask for!

OK -- I got off my heinie and looked in my Passporter... It's #56 that also faces away from the road. I think you see more greenery than water in that building, but it is also a nice one. #55 and #56 are on either side of the Southpoint pool, which is one of our faves. It's always SUPER warm, which we love, and not typically crowded. For beauty of view, though, you can not beat #55. It's the farthest out building from HH so I suppose not many people request it, and it is quiet and lovely... Now if they would just rehab the rooms! ;)

I was thinking of asking for Building #55 until I saw your negative report. Now I think I'll avoid it until I hear it's been refurbed. I wonder if anyone knows which building have been done. ???

I did hear back from Mickey, and I posted with my original info that I had spoken with a nice woman who thanked me for my comments and assured me things would be remedied... I hope they are taking it seriously, because it is a shame to check in and be disappointed. Honestly, it about KILLS me to say ANYTHING bad about OKW, because I love it there. We have stayed there probably more times than any other resort (even though we don't own there) and ALWAYS had wonderful experiences. The resort is just so beautiful and green.... But a shabby room is still a shabby room, even if it IS at Disney World.

I will try again to remember to post a picture for you! I am useless at such things and need DH to do it for me and I forget... Sorry! :idontgeti

Aren't they going in building order on the refurb? Meaning, they are in the 30s now (Turtle Pond area)? :scratchch I seem to recall late 20s buildings being done last year.

Although I cannot help you because I don't know anything about OKW, I love and agree with your verandah rights. Good luck and I hope you have a great vacation.:bouncingp
