Okay, so we are planning our FIRST DVC vacation! YEAH!:woohoo: But while we talked to MS I got a bit confused and was hoping someone can help clear this up for us.
We aren't booking a package anymore so we have to purchse our dining plan and tickets seperately and so on. Okay, so do we have a room key, a dining plan card, and tickets all on seperate things? Do I end up with one of those paper tickets or an actual card? Do they just add it all onto your room key so we don't have to walk around with RK, DPC, PT and our mbr cards too? Oh and I can't forget the Visa Rewards card!:duck: Can you still pay for things on your room key or not? How does all this work now that we're mbrs?
Prior to DVC membership we purchase our package and everything just goes all right on your room key, except the Rewards card of course.
So what happens now? Please help me!

Tickets will be on your room key. If you purchased the dining plan, that will be on your room key also. You can use your room key for charging (backed up with a credit card of course).

If you buy an AP you do have to carry that but if you buy MYW tickets they can be put on your key.

I'm looking at ours from our 1st DVC trip and it even says DVC on it.

Now if it only said 4/12/08 rather than 1/02/08.

The room key can do alot but not everything. Your DDP goes on there and any Magic your way admission, and you will be able to charge against what ever credit card you authorize at check in. You can choose which members in your party can use the charging privilages.

If you are an annual passholder that is a paper ticket.

You will need to show your DVC member card for some of the perks such as out of pocket dining discounts mini golf etc..

If you have a Disney Dining Experience card you need to have that with you as well.

The Disney VISA rewards card as you already know is completely seperate.

But with MYW, DDP and charging ablity I guess it still lives up to its title as "Your Key to the World Card".

I am glad you mentioned that. I would have assumed since it said DVC on the Key that we could get the discounts with it!

This totally tells me all I needed to hear. That is great! I forgot tat they called it "Key to the World" card while I was typing these questions.
Thank you everyone for all your answers. I am greatful to have all of us able to discuss these kinds of things.
