Has anyone traded out for the concierge collection? We are debating buying DVC and with the AKL incentive of II or SSR points. Can you book concierge collection if the incentive states II points can be used? I'm a little confused. Also, we are waiting to see of DH gets into NY Marathon, so, I wondered if anyone knew how many points it would take to stay at Lowes Regency Hotel New York. Any help is appreciated.

We have a stay booked at the Fairmont in San Fancisco through Concierge Collection this June. I can't wait. It looks like a really nice hotel. Booking was really easy, too.

No, the SSR and II only developer points can not be used for Concierge bookings. I asked my guide that very question a couple of weeks ago. We had been waiting for our AKV points that we requested before they changed the incentives, and when the AKV2 points became available, I inquired to see if we should switch deals.

Depending on when you stay, and class of room, NY will run anywhere from 54 to 83 points a night.

We have used them for several long(17 night stays) at the Dorchester and Royal Garden in London. Also used them at the Fairmont in Sonoma and in Monterey. The later 2(and also the Dorchester) are no longer part of CC :(

We are planning another 17 nights at Royal Garden in Summer 09.

:highfive: Can you tell me more about the Royal Garden? We're heading there for 3 nights before we hook up with our AbD Emerald Isle tour. Can you recommend the best way to get from Heathrow to the hotel?

Royal Garden is nice. One corner of Hyde Park next to Kensignton Palace(Where Princess Di use to stay). If money isn't an issue, a cab is quickest and best. Otherwise, I have used the Tube. It is cheap but takes about an hr. $ vs time. Your choice.

BTW, with the cab you can see alot more than riding underground:)

Hadn't thought of the sightseeing value of taking the cab. That's pretty desirable. I am reading about some other service called the Heathrow Express? Heard of it?

I have heard of it but we decided we like the ability to just get and go instead of waiting for the shuttle. They stop at other hotels so you don't know if you are 1st stop or last.

Hi

The Heathrow Express is a Train it is very good and takes about 15 Mins.
It costs about $35 PP I think have used it before when travelling on business from London to Europe.

It takes you to London Paddington where you could take the tube to High Street Kensington on the Circle & District line..turn right out of tube and the hotel is around 200yds on the left.

If it was me and depending on how much luggage you have I would take the Express inl ondonn and a Cab from Paddington.

Here is a link to the Heathrow Express website (shows Taxi rank)
