Model rooms for the Grand Californian Villas at the Disneyland sales center will open just in time for Memorial Day weekend. From May 23rd - 26th, DVC will offer special preview sessions exclusively for current DVC members who live in the Southern California area. DVC's “Founding Member” sales program will allow current members who initially purchased through the California sales center an exclusive two-month period in which to purchase up to 160 points at the Grand Californian.
After this two-month period, sales will be opened up to other members as well as to the general public. (It is not yet clear whether existing members will have priority over the general public.)

When I go out to visit DD for Mother's Day, I'm going to try to swing by there on my way home to check out the rooms. Not sure if I'll talk DD into a day at DL or not, but hoping we can at least cruise by...it is a BIT out of the way.

Well, if you do swing by, then you could also have a drink with a friend. :innocent:

So does this mean they will go on sale to "the rest of us" approx. July 24th?

I want enough to spend a couple of days/year. It will go nicely with trips to Club 33 :)
I am hoping that 100 pts will be sufficient.

You can NEVER have too many DVC points...except when the annual dues bill comes in! :cheerlead

Pay lots of money how else lol!!:D But unless you are a member already you cannot join. Membership is currently closed to new members and so is the waiting list. I believe it takes about 14 years to get through the waiting list if it ever opens again, but don't expect it before 2010. Here is a site that explains some of it although it is not an official site and the wikipedia page for it.

Bill,
I put a review in the whining and dining thread. We never thought we would get to go... but I now have a good friend of a friend who can get us in :)

Has anyone heard anything else about the member reception? I called down there to see what is going on and they have very little info avail. And so far no room discounts are avail..
