I just put us on a waitlist for standard view BWV for May. Right now we're at SSR and just fine with that.
What do you think the chances are of this coming through? It is for the beginning of May. I have the waitlist set up to keep looking up to 7 days prior to checkin.
I am :yo-yo: , I know.

Hmmm...well it is during the F&G festival and from what I understand BWV and BCV are pretty tough to get.
Although I know that chip126 was waitlisted for 2 days toward the end of April for BCV and her waitlist came thru within a few days-
Sorry I wasnt able to directly give you a yes or no-
Here is some pixie dust to help you out! :dust :dust

I would say if you don't have it by 30 days out, you wont get it. Otherwise - why not??? Lots of people have to change plans. The real question is how far down the waitlist you are and they won't tell you that, right?
Good Luck!!!

Are you on the automatic waitlist or do you want them to call you? The auto list will get you a better chance for success.
I think the waitlist still empties 30 days prior and you'll need to call MS again to get back on the list. The list again empties at 7 days prior and you'd need just to call then to check.
Good luck with your reservation.

Pressing my thumbs for you!!! (German version of fingers crossed - can't find a smilie for that....)
All of my waitlists in 2005 came through, albeit for less popular resorts such as OKW and SSR. I did get SSR to clear during FandW. In each case I went on the under 30 days waitlist.
I think that I scared the poor woman from MS when I answered the phone and asked 'ARE YOU MY WAITLIST FAIRY??!!"

things change on a daily basis.
I called last week and booked BWV for 6 nights at BWV over the Memorial weekend. When I called that morning, I was told the only things available for my whole stay were OKW and SSR, I like both so not a problem for me. I wanted to book airfare before borrowing points, so I hung up, worked out flight plans, called back to MS and the guy that answered said, "Where do you want to stay?" I said, you only have OKW and SSR for my timeframe, he says maybe not, and puts me on hold. He then comes back and says he has a BWV studio for my entire stay :jawdroppi , so I jumped on it.
After thinking about it for the past week, hubby and I have decided we would rather have an OKW 1-bedroom than a BWV studio for the trip, so I am calling today to give up my May BWV ressie. Sorry that my dates won't help you.
The moral of the story is: if someone cancels and if someone else calls before that ressie is turned over to the waitlist, the person calling in can get those nights. That's not good for waitlist people, but if you are on the waitlist and call in every day, it just might work out for you.
A lot of folks don't want to call in every day. I have called in daily and suddenly gotten the dates I wanted without receiving notice from the waitlist. :cheerlead And I have also had nothing become available at all, even with calling every day and having them check the resort once we got 7-days out and then even calling morning of check-in. :(

I have a question.
What do you think my chances are of getting a one bedroom at OKW the first week of December for 9 nights??
I will book at SSR first but do you think it would be possible to get a one bedroom? I want OKW because I can go nine nights whereas if I stay at SSR I can only go for 8.

and OKW is a much bigger room with a full-size washer and dryer. Not slamming SSR, as I own at both places, but I really love OKW.
I am not sure what luck you will have. I guess I would try booking one day at a time at the start of your ressie, unless you would mind moving if it doesn't all come thru.

Thanks for the good thoughts everyone.
With one of my previous reservations (a that is now past), I was on the phone making the reservation and I really wanted BWV. Well, they didn't have it available so I chose VWL instead. IN THE PROCESS of confirming that reservation the CM came back on the line sounding befuddled and said, "wait! it just came available. You're in luck" :cheerlead Love it. So we were at BWV. How funny is that? But I do agree, that stinks for waitlisters...doesn't really seem fair.
SO, I think being on a waitlist for standard BWV is really taking a chance, but I still have SSR to fall back on. It would be great if it came through. We're taking my Mom and her boyfriend and I think being so close to two parks would be great for them as newbies.
I chose to stay on the list for up to 7 days prior to arrival, so at 30 days out I'll call if I do not get an updated confirmation in the mail before then. I asked them to automatically switch me without calling. Hopefully that does indeed increase our chances.
I'll keep you all updated on this. We leave on May 6th.

I was led to believe that it was an automated process, by which nights cancelled are allocated to the first person on the waitlist, and from there on down, and finally after the last waitlisted person turns it down, only then is it released to inventory. It could be that there was nobody else waitlisted for your BWV studio for the nights you wanted so you got them as soon as they were released by the other person's cancellation.
As for the OP waiting for Standard View, I would recommend wideing your waitlist if you really want to stay at BWV, as the Std Views tend to stay reserved and generally have longer waitlists. Just broadening it to Std, Pfd BW and Pfd pool/garden would give you a very good chance of getting in. If however, you would only do it if you could get the Std View points price, then it's still a shot in the dark (but still plenty possible).

Not so sure about that. I expressed great surprise that the BWV was available and that it had not gone to wailist. The MS fellow I was talking to said that he felt he had grabbed those nights "before" they were released to the waitlist. Since I don't know the ins and outs of the system, I can't say for sure. Actually, I am not sure that the MS folks know the ins and outs of the system either, sometimes.

Trust me, if I had 15 more points this wouldn't be an issue.
