I'm a SINK!!!!!:clappingh
(Unless you count dad's social security:hehehehe: )
I've never been to WDW with any children, just adult relatives, or my best friend.
I am guessing I will be taking my (sometime in the future) stepkids to WDW, but they aren't little.

Right here. Single Income Nine Kids:jumpingbe:jumpingbe .
Well, it's more like one and a half incomes. And I guess it's not really nine kids, but some days it feels like it. :crowded: We would be laundry SINKS, given the way the dirty clothes do pile up.

I recently booked OKW for our Flower and Garden show trip. It is around the same time as the Star Wars Weekend and Gay Days. Our second annual trip is during the Food and Wine at EPCOT, staying at our home base at VWL. As we recently added more points we are going to stay in a one bedroom for the first time during both trips.
I have to say that I can't wait to use the kitchen to cook some breakfasts, other than the cold cereals and pop tarts in the toaster we usually had at the studios.
Leftcoaster are you in CA? We are, and about an hour drive from Disneyland.

You'll love having all the added space in the 1 bedroom. Don't forget to use the jacuzzi bath tub too. I used it three ngihts on my October trip last year. And of course, as soon as my nieces saw it (ages 4 & 6) "Uncle David...... Can we use the bath tub?"
I did go during gay days last year and being a Californian, the weather wasn't too brutal. The only place it got tough was at Animal Kingdom but, that seems to be the norm.
And yes, I am in California. I live in Yorba Linda about 20 minutes from Disneyland.

We are in Agoura Hills, and try to get to Disneyland as often as possible.
October is our favorite time of year for WDW trips. The weather is mild and the crowds not so big it seems. AK always seems to be warmer or more humid than the other parks whenever we are there.
The Jacuzzi sounds great , we always have cocktails in our refillable mugs out at the hot tub when we get back from a long day at the parks.

October is my favorite time at WDW with the great weather, MNSSHP, and F&W festival. right now, it's killing me not having a trip planned for October of this year. :headbange
As for the jacuzzi, I was actually talking about the jacuzzi tub in the master bath of the 1 bedroom units. But, I do love your use of the refillable mugs. It reminds me of a dinner with a friend a long time ago. At the time, I was living in San Jose and he lived in San Francisco but worked periodically in San Jose. One night, he was going to spend the night. So, we went out to dinner had a pitcher of margaritas. We were just starting the second pitcher when we realized that it was going to be too much. So, we told ou rwaitress "we have a mission for you. Make this to go." So, she got us some plastic containers and we poured the rest in there. Yes, I know that was a big no no and we did give her a big tip. So, we got home blended the margaritas again and hit the hot tub. :ale:

,I was a bartender for years, so i know how to make all kinds of great stuff from what is available from the Mercantile at Wilderness. Besides drinks on the balcony, or mugfulls of booze in the hot tub , I can't wait to make us Eggs Benedict for breakfast with homefries some morning. At night when back from the parks we usually upload our pics onto our laptop and send some to the Disneyfan website we frequent. Some of our best times are sitting in our bathing suits in the pool or hot tub at the DVC Wilderness section watching everyone come back from the halloween events in costumes. lots of them are very inventive for families on vacation..as a big ol gay guy I get jealous that i didn't think of those costumes myself...LOL

Greetings from up North!
My partner and I honeymooned in WDW, right after we were married here at home in Canada. Both of us are really Disney geeks, which helps. If not, 12 years of living together would have driven us insane by now. Unfortunately, we missed "Gay Days" by only a day or two - but our Pride Mickey pins and "special event" buttons (with Mickey as groom and Minnie as bride) kinda got everyone's attention. A lot of cast and characters drew us into conversation over our wedding (and a lot of non-face characters pointed to our pins and then to themselves, nodding). The CM at The American Adventure went out of his way to prepare a calligraphy wedding "congrats" with our names on it, on behalf of TAA - and it looks great!
We are currently in ROFR (Day 6) for 200 points on OKW. We want our Disney "home" badly! DVC cannot talk or deal with us remotely as we are not "in a registered province/state" - so we are taking our chances with The Timeshare Store. If that fails, we just so happen to be going to WDW this December (back to DCL again too) and can conclude 200 points on SS directly from DVC in person.

Kenneth, Good luck on ROFR. I bought OKW resale myself and it really does feel like home to me. When deciding where to buy, I really wanted to make the perfect choice (for me) and upon going to OKW for my first stay, I knew I made that perfect choice.
Once you get your points, you can start thinking about adding on.

Can I join? I am pretty sure I am a SINK. I have gone to Disney with kids but none of them were mine... and maybe those trips are the reason I don't have any...:ROTFL: (Actually it's probably the five years I spent as a camp counselor....)

Carol, 'borrowed' kids are the best kind - you can 'unborrow' them whenever the need arises! :D

Only SINKS can understand this, so here goes:
We have a DCL cruise booked for 9/08. We just completed a 7 day eastern on Celebrity. There were 80 kids on that ship. It was so quiet and peaceful. There were literally thousands of square feet of peace and quiet. I am fearful of our DCL cruise! We have done 2 before and really enjoyed them. And the children were not an issue for us. But now I have tasted Celebrity (2 actually, 12/06 and 12/07) I am second guessing the DCL cruise.
So for those of you who are SINKS and done a DCL cruise, where did you hide out? I know about Palo, adult pool/beach, Cove Cafe. Are there any lounges during the day that have nice views, no cigarette smoke and no children?? Thanks!
PS we will have a veranda and can always escape there!

I'm a single SINKS too! :cheerlead Though when my almost 3 yrs old nephew that lives 45 min from disney is a bit older I can't wait to "borrow" him! So far my sister & nephew have only visited our AKV room once... haven't gotten them to the parks yet! I go to disney with friends, my other sister, and mostly my mom as of late. Though I think at the end of my last trip I was on mother overload! 6 disney trips with her in 14 months! That was alot! lol... Think I am taking a break until this years xmas celebrations that I'd like to go see. But I am starting to feel disney withdrawals already! :shhh: Wish I had some more single SINKS to go to disney with! :grouphug::jumpingbe

Anyhow, we definitely enjoy WDW with any kind of drink!

Ah, so this is where the cool kids hang out. :rockband:
Count me as a SINK. Love my nieces and nephews to pieces, but I would not trade being stuck in their school schedule for anything. (They want me to take them to Disney next Summer instead of letting me go in Spring or Fall.) Besides, all temper tantrums should be my own or they're just not fun.

I'm a bit confused about the definition of a SINK. I thought that it was a member of a couple with no kids, where only one person worked, but I didn't realise that that sort of set-up still existed!!
My sister (aged 19) always talks about giving up work as soon as she's married and I told her that the world doesn't work like that anymore.
Surely a single person with no kids is just a regular single person?

aurora1982, I think you are correct.
When I worked, we were DINKs.
I quit about 3 years ago, we are now SINKs.
And we never had kids, so are we 'pure SINKs'? :Pssst:
And if you have children, but they have all grown up and left, you are lucky DINKs and SINKs, like DVC4me!:blueflowe

Wow muushka - I'm intrigued. How on earth do you keep yourself busy?
I had a month off between one job and the next (the second job messed up my training dates so I wasn't allowed to start, nor was I paid - Grr!!!) and I was just about ready to poke my eyes out with boredom!

I volunteer at 2 different orgs (used to be 3, but the cat shelter had to go due to health reasons). And my husband is a bit of a brat. I take very good care of him because he works hard, so I try to make his life easy.
I was pretty bored when I first started staying home, but I really enjoy it and am very grateful that I can.
