Just spoke to a few sales reps.
AKV is now sold out for the "1st" building (ie the two floors of the converted hotel). They are now selling AKV memberships for the new building so that people buying AKV points now cannot use their points until May 09. They are getting limited incentive points which can only be used at SSR or exchanged to the World Passport (of course they have to pay the $95 exchange fee --- welcome to DVC!!).
SSR is almost sold out, but they still have about 2-3 months sales inventory. That is probably one of the things that is keeping Contemp. off line for now.
Sales reps are limited in what they can disclose... but...there have been told that they have to sell something... and if AKV has limited sales, SSR is sold out....
Basically, they are letting the pent up demand do its work so that there will be a rush of DVC sales without having to give incentives (which Disney views as an evil necessity that they would rather do without.
Pricing will command a premium, but if it is in the DVC system, the price per point cannot be too different from the others. The way that it will make up for the location is to vastly increase the points per room category.
I am only guessing, but I suspect that it will have some type of tier pricing like AKV with the better views and concierge commanding a premium. Also, again guessing, but DVC will probably have some of the worst views at lower point values so it can foist the crappy rooms off on DVC'ers and save the best views and highest floors for the hotel rooms.
