You can only bank one years points yes?? So lets say someday in the future we can't travel for a year or two. (Say 2010 and 2011) could we bank 2010's points and 2011's points to use in 2012?

You are correct. If you bank your points, they must be used in the next use year. You could, however, use 2010, 2011 and 2012 points all in 2011. Planning a bit father out these days? ;)

Na, just wanted to know just in case there was a circumstance where we couldn't travel for 2 years or something.

Hi Cobbler,
WHile you can't book two years in a row like that, what you could do is rent your points to a member (transferring is easy ) who needs them and then rent points back in the year that you need the extra.
Renting, even to DVC members, is for more than the maintenance fees, and very easy....so as long as the supply is less than the demand, there should never be a problem.

So far, we have never had an opportunity to use that "three years at once" option, but maybe down the road a piece when we are no longer working, we might like to skip Disney for a year....Did I say that???? :faint:

Diane, is that a photo of your house in your sig? If so, it's no wonder you say you'd rather stay at OKW since the WL reminds you of home. Looks great!

I have this clipped from the other boards - this was posted some time ago and I do not have the original thread URL - seems to be along the lines of there is a way to actually use 4 yrs worth of points on one trip
"Well I believe this is the most creative way to stretch your points to the max on a single trip--(and I have never seen anyone else post this so I think I am the inventor of this idea)
Book your trip so that it starts at the end of your use year but extends into the beginning of the use year.
Example: September use Year--Go from August 28 2005 to September 9th (checking out on the 9th--12 nights--in a 2 BEDROOM AT OKW!!!) 348 points!!! You could do 16 nights in a 1 BR starting Aug 27th. (400 points) 32 nights in an OKS studio starting Aug 24...(396 points) A week in an OKW Grand Villa starting Aug 28 or 29th (383-392 points depending which day you start since the season's change on Sept 1)
But that is more than 3 years' worth of points?
How?
100 -2003 points banked into 2004 and used for the start of your trip...248 points for the rest of the trip from 2004 2005 and borrowed from 2006 into Sep 2005! in other words use 2 years worth of points for the days before Sept and the other 2 years for the days on and after Sept 1!
It taps out your points for a while but it tells you the most you could possibly have is 4 years worth not 3.
Pau"
cheers

You could borrow your '10 points for stays during your '09 UY. Then bank you '11 points for your '12 UY.

You need a futures market to trade points to be delivered some time in the future :)

Right now we actually aren't into any borrowed points - amazing what an add-on can do for you! But before my add-on, I always figured we'd just stay borrowed and I'd never have to worry about the whole 3 years thing!!!! I can't imagine ever having 4 years worth! Talk about a great vacation, though.
I do have to add , real quick and off topic - I just have to giggle at all the familiar names with such teeny tiny post counts! :)

I have to worry about this banking stuff because I bought contracts with banked points. I used those first, of course, and now I am planning a big family trip in 08 :grouphug: I am having to try to keep a year or so intact and bank from year to year...very confusing with two or three trips per year! What a problem to have :goodvibes
It is interesting to watch the post counts grow from "0" :)
