After pacing the floor since 4:30 am we finally boarded at 11 am. This was the first time I didn't take a 7 am flight out. I much rather prefer the early flight...cant stand the wait! :)

Used ME for the 3rd time. Not a problem- We grabbed our luggage ourselves as I like to know where my "stuff"is and didnt want to take any chances of a delay getting it to our room. Hopped on the bus and we were off!

Uneventful and quick trip over, noticed the billboard at Bonnet Creek still "underwraps".

On entering the Lobby my jaw just dropped! It was beautiful!

Check in was a breeze and thought I was going to burst into tears with my first Welcome Home to the Boardwalk.

Of course I was prepared for the "long hallways" which really would have been fine but was surprised when we were given room 2063- Lobby floor and literally right around the corner from Dundys! This was our viewhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a390/jiggerj/BWVview.jpg

The balcony was HUGE! I spent alot of time out there just watching the activity on the green. Our studio was clean and was surprised to find Welcome Home ballons with a card. DS was thrilled (ok me too!)http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a390/jiggerj/cooperBWV2.jpg Little man and I especially loved our last night. We were able to watch the high Illuminations fireworks and could hear just a little of the music-

I had planned for a special dinner the first night to celebrate our first trip but we were tired from exploring Epcot (you are so right Mar the top row of soarin' is AWSOME!) so we ended up with chili dogs on the boardwalk! and.... I loved 'em! Lots of fun to just stroll along muching on a hot dog on the boardwalk! :)

I am a early riser so I took the opportunity to explore the Lobby- WOW!!! There really is so much to see. Stopped and appreciated all the "little" things that I am sure that many people dont slow down for and notice-http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a390/jiggerj/BWlobby.jpg although it was only around 4:45 am I was surprised to see so many people out jogging and working out-

We enjoyed our visits to the parks- Ds had some magical moments. The parks were EMPTY and we were pretty much alone at rope drop at the Castle so ds went in and "woke up tinkerbelle" He thought it was pretty cool to do but wanted out of the "girlie stuff" shop! :) We tried CHH it was just ok...never had tried so we did. We were the first family of the day so ds was givin a Magical Moment cert and a fastpass for ride of choice-

We were all pretty anxious to get back to the BW. Spent an afternoon at Luna Park pool- I had a blast on the slide...oh and ds loved it too!

Then it was time.....my very first roller coaster meltdown! (thanks Mar!:)) dh thought I was nuts I told him "WAIT I promised athenna I would take a picture!" This one is for you Athenna!http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a390/jiggerj/meltdown.jpg CHEERS! till we can do one together in person! It was sooo good ...gotta watch that first sip though!:faint:

continuing along here....

Went out in the early eve to enjoy the boardwalk festivities. Jugglers, strolling musicians. Great atmosphere! Didnt do Jelly rolls saving that for our May trip CB and Mar! :)

We enjoyed Spoodles twice for breakfast...Loved it! and we dined at Flying Fish a night. Ds and I went over to Epcot our last day before the flight and had lunch of fish and chips together...yum!

Never made it over to AK to check on Everest. :( I guess we will be trying it out in on the May trip !(yahoo!) The DVCers that spoke with that attended the preview just were crazy for it! (I arrived a day late)

Great trip all in all and fell in love with the Boardwalk :beatinghe Only back one day and I just cant wait to get back again!

Super report Laura, sounds like you had a number of magical moments in a relatively short trip, that's so good to hear!

I am always happy when I hear someone likes "my" home as much as I do, I truly can't wait to share it with you in May. Did you guys make it over to community hall?

Yes we went over to the Community Hall. Twice actually! Little man was in Playstation heaven. They had a whole schedule of projects going on like "make a memeory book', "design an Umbrella," We never ended up timing it right so he could participate. But its good to know that there is always the next time! :) Like MAY!!!! :) Cant wait too! :)

I love a trip report with photos...makes it so more personal and exciting. Ya did good, j!:jumpingbe

I'm confused re what view you had on your ressie: PV, BW ?????? I thought all BWs were ON the BW and that some PV's and some standard studios might be on the green. So tell us tell us!
On a personal note as I am too lazy to PM:
I don't know when my dive is... I know when the cancelled dive was, but not the new. I think you can take photos, but without flash is my best guess. Not sure if I want photos of me in my bathing suit tho IYKWIM! LOL!

Thanks CB!-

I had a PV. The only thing that I had asked for was a high floor- didnt get it but the location was sooo close to the lobby. Of course I find the shortcut to the pool ect..using the elevator the day we leave- :dunce:
I asked if there were any BW views on check in but they told me no- Arent the BW's and the PV's the same in points? Maybe they put me in a standard? I was on the green though- Now I am confused on the views for PV and standard...????? Any thoughts based on my photos?

The way it was explained to me if you have a view of the canal/crescent lake or either pool it's preferred. The standard views are almost all somewhere along the entranceway and look down at the valet parking, or the vicinity. I once had a preferred view that looked at MGM/Canal one way, and a parking lot the other way (I whined about it a bit here, but as it was a free "upgrade" from standard I said nothing to the staff at the BW).

Not sure if that helps you determine what you actually had, but that's all I know regarding views.

In May I will show you all the BWV shortcuts so you don't have to wait until the last day to find 'em! :goodvibes :beaniepro :flowerfor :woohoodan :dancingba

Just for the heck of it I called MS and asked what my view was considered. They called over to the BWV's and were told that my room 2063 was indeed a PV. He said that only rooms that overlook the driveway/parking lot are standard views.

I will someday get the hang of this! :)

Look forward to finding all those shortcuts Mar! Especially the ones that take you to Leaping Horse Libations for some meltdowns! LOL!! :)

I do believe that your room was preferred.

However, and I may be wrong, but I believe Colorado Belle mentioned in an older thread there are a few Std rooms that are not along the driveway. However I have always had the driveway view when I stayed std. I prefer to be down the hall away from the main entrance, as it's quieter and you get a view of the little fountain down by the guard booth. The rooms by the valet parking are much closer to the elevators, but if they give me a choice I'd rather be further down away from the hustle and bustle.

It took me at least 3 trips to get used to the shape of BWV Laura. I'll be more than happy to share all the shortcuts with you in just over 80 days--especially the ones that lead to Roller Coaster Meltdowns! :goodvibes :woohoo:

I'm so glad that you had a great trip home!!!

I agree about walking the boardwalk area in the early morning - it's a whole different world. I also like wandering around the inner courtyard at BWI - very peaceful.

And the best part is that you only have a few months until the next trip..... :clappingh
