Which meals are 1900 Park Fare and Coral Reef for?
For Teppanyaki, have you been to a Teppan restaurant outside of WDW?
thanks

We ate at Chefs de france last year for lunch. I wouldn't say it was bad, but I've had much better. I think our comments were something to the effect that we wouldn't be in any hurry to return. Our lunch at Brown Derby was awesome, be sure to save room for the grapefruit cake. I found the recipe for it on the web somewhere. Someday I'm going to attempt to make it. I think we had steaks at lunch. Alfredo's is going to be our "new" place to try this trip, it seems to get mixed reviews. It's been a few years since LeCellier, but we are doing it again this trip, it was a great meal when we had it a few years ago. I never see many poor reports about it either. Be sure to give us full reviews of them all when you return. You have a lot of the same restaurants picked that we do for our March trip. I must leave this thread now, before my Weight Watchers points calculator blows up just from me thinking about everything I'm going to eat while I'm there!!:yummy:

Except for the Princess Breakfast, they are all dinner.
I have only been to a teppan restaurant outside of WDW once, many moons ago. But we had lunch at teppenyaki in December and thought it was okay. My DS loves it so it went back on the list.
This is going to sound weird but I made all my dinner reservations for 7:15 or 7:20. for the whole trip. I figure that will sandwich between parades and fireworks. Oh! But I made O'hana for 9:30 so I get to watch wishes at 10. We did that the last trip and it was fantastic.
But, several of these restaurants are new to me and I wondered what you guys would say about them. I am particularly afraid of Chefs de france and Alfredos.

Given that all are dinner except for Princess Breakfast here are my comments FWIW
Chefs de France - we always prefer Bistro de Paris - more elegant, less rushed and more quiet - less selection and higher prices though
Coral Reef - Lunch menu is very similar to dinner and prices are lower and can be less busy so better chance to have tankside dining
Teppanyaki - decent Teppan dining and fun to boot - since your DS likes it, keep it on the list (compared to out of the World dining not as good)
Boma, you will love - great buffet with lots of choice and great decor along with fabulous staff - yum yum
WCC - always fun especially at night with the kids
1900 Park Fare - not our cup of tea - would prefer other Monorail restaurants over this location
That is quite a list you have there - you are travelling all over the place - do you have a car or is it all Disney Transport?
cheers

Looks fine to me...I don't particularly like Ohana but a lot of people do....I'd add Flying Fish, Jiko, Citrico's and California Grill...and maybe try something outside the bubble....like Season's 52 or Moonfish

I am staying at the BWV so the Epcot stuff is close. I wasn't planning on getting a car, I might rethink that!!
Thanks for all the suggestions... any and all are more than welcome.
Tammy,
I've found Chefs to be better at lunch than dinner, overall. Coral Reef and Alfredos are on my "don't do" list, but heck, it has been about 10 years since I made that rule, and I am planning on loosening that rule in the next couple trips. It's really hard to hold a restaurant responsible for terrible meals 10+ years ago...:tsktsk:
As for renting a car, we'll be at BWV in a few days. We have 2 nights of going off property to visit friends. We're renting a car from National over at the Dolphin for 2 days only. Just wanted to mention that as an option too, if you don't feel you need a car the entire time.

I think you're right not to bother with a car rental. Especially at the Epcot resorts, we have found them to be more trouble than they're worth.
As for your selections, if it were me, I'd skip Chefs de France (better French food in Boston, thanks), Alfredos (pretty ordinary) and 1900 Park Fare (both of our experiences there have been "Yuck":yuck: ). I would substitute Flying Fish, Spoodles (you are at the BWV after all) and I'd suggest Jiko (our favorite). JMO here.
I can't comment from personal experience on Hollywood & Vine or Ohana.
Others dislike the Coral Reef, but it is among my family's favorites. The menu is pretty limited so if you have picky eaters, this may not be a great choice. Interestingly, quite a number of the food items on the menu are grown in The Land pavillion, including the Tilapia fish, the greens and the tomatoes (isn't that cool!).
Have a great trip!

We also enjoy Coral Reef....I know you'll probably get loads of opinions on that restaurant. We're going to WDW in August and I asked my kids where they *had* to eat and they both said CORAL REEF. For some reason they both love this restaurant :idontgeti. It really has great ambiance, decent food and a nice wine list. So it always works out great for our family! With that said, there are many people who really dislike this restaurant?!
We just ate at Le Cellier this weekend and it was wonderful! I can't say enough good things about the food and service, our party of 6 were all impressed. It had been a few years since we had dined there and it really lived up to all the hype!

You wanted some opinions, so here goes:
Just got back from WDW last week, so here's my current feedback!
O'Hana's we like but it's not on our top five picks
Akershus USED to be one of our favorite restaurants before the princess meals. We skipped it this time (weren't travelling with any children)
Chefs de France--IMO I'd skip it. We weren't impressed with the food.
Alfredo's---this trip was the first time eating here and we really liked it. My husband grew up in a very Italian family, and he said the food was very authentic (and the Italian waiters were just so darn cute!)
Coral Reef---keep it on your list because your kids like it so. For us, once was enough!
LeCellier---OUR FAVORITE! You're smart to do it twice. It's worth every penny!
Brown Derby--Though I've read that some people weren't impressed, we NEVER go to MGM without eating here. Their cobb salad, to die for!!! We have always had excellent service, the chef always spends some time at our table. This restaurant really ties for our number one spot.
Hollywood and Vine---If you're looking for another good restaurant at MGM, I'd substitute Mama Melrose. H&V is just okay in our book.
Teppanyaki--Very good food, and lots of fun. Worth the trip!
1900 Park Fare--we weren't too impressed with this restaurant, but we hadn't been back here in a few years.
Bomas---the hands down VERY BEST breakfast buffet you could ask for. What a deal! What fantastic food! Make sure you talk to one of the tour guides outside and they'll take you all around the hotel (even places where only cast members can go) to show you all the great vantage points for animal viewing. Ask for Kentse, she was delightful!
Whispering Canyon---lots of fun, food just okay>
If you can, please add Flying Fish to your calendar. Food is excellent.
I must admit that the food is improved tremendously over the years. We always have such a hard time deciding where to go. But I think your selections will please you!
