Has anyone been to the weekly meeting at SSR?

I have read that every Wednesday there is at meeting at SSR for current DVC members. I was wondering if anyone has ever been and what it is all about?

Me and Tammy went when we were there. It was ok, they just give you updates on what's going on in WDW/DVC, they give away prizes (I didnt win anything:worried: ). I don't think you need to go out of your way to attend, but I was glad I went. And the chance to win prizes is always good:thumbsup:

I agree with Athena...I wouldn't go too far out of my way to attend, but if you're staying at SSR and don't do the all-day touring thing, it's worth an hour of your time.

During our last stay at SSR we had grandma with us to stay with the sleeping kiddies while DW and I attended. It was a real score for us since they were handing out static cling window stickers that said "DVC MEMBER" with the mountain logo to everyone in attendance. That type of window decal was just about the only souvenir we hoped to find during the trip...and it ended up being free!!!

That was over a year ago, so I don't know if they are still giving them away.

Anyway, the meeting we attended was held as they were preparing for the current 50th celebration. Even after reading a lot of Disney fansites regularly, I remember getting a lot of new info about the stuff coming to WDW for the celebration.

They also did a brief sales pitch and had a manager from the spa on hand to talk about some of their offerings. It lasted just about an hour.

Hmmm....Have ressies for HOB that night so might go over to check it all out before dinner. I have never been over to SSR and would like to see it- :) Thanks!

We went on one of our last trips. As everyone has said I wouldn't make a huge effort to get over there. They went over some new info, told about SS and the spa. I did win one of the prizes -- a men's DVC watch. DH loves it!
