OK- the trip is on, time to get back to planning....

We are doing a split trip with the Poly and VB in Feb. A very tropical theme here! I was wondering if anyone had recommendations about what to type room to request. We are staying in a GV with DD9 &4. We won't really have too much time for swimming, but would like one of the pools fairly close for quick dips. I was thinking of requesting quiet pool view, that would give them a few longhouses and yet retain the idea, we would be in central location and near a pool. Anyone have any thoughts?

We also will be arriving rather late, around 10pm. How bad do you think it will be getting a decent room?

Also when returning form the MK after Wishes what route is the quickest or most prefered? Monorail, Friendship Boat or Ferry Boat?

I have always thought the monorail is the fastest, unless the friendship boat is about to leave, then we think that is the fastest hands down. (also a little more fun)

As longhouses go, Tahiti was/is our favorite for the easy access to TTC. We always did a garden view, one day maybe we'll splurge on a Lagoon view. For a quiet pool view, I couldn't help you with that, I just can't visualize the layout for some reason tonight. I wish Tikiman's site was still up, you maybe can google Tikiman-Polynesian Resort and I think it pops up fairly well if he has reopened it. His site is a wealth of knowledge.

oh, I just love the poly.....:beatinghe

Raratonga and Samoa are both close to pools. Samoa stands between the two pools and Raratonga is adjacent to both the Grand Ceremonial House and the quiet pool. We stayed there last summer and loved it. Both are non-smoking buildings I believe.

If Tikiman's construction schedules holds they will be working on Samoa all Feb and Raratonga floor by floor thoughout Feb. Hmmm... That leaves only Tokalau that faces the pool (non-smoking GV). Of course those construction schedules don't mean a whole heck of a lot. You know I really don't care too much as long as we don't have a view of cars or the backside of another building, I'm fine.

I went to the Polynesian last week to have lunch at Kona cafe and was surprised to see the resort so empty. There seemed to be lots of construction and the main pool was down. Don't know there schedules or your travel dates, but you may want to check to see if the main pool will be open
