Besides the rampamt DVC rumors and the new show replacing Tarzan, what rumors have you guys heard lately? Anyone got anything juicy? I'm really curious what the next big attraction is going to be! Are they going to rest now for a while....with Soarin', E:E and Lights, Motors, Action all making debuts recently.
If a new attraction is announced, which park gets it?

Talk amongst yourselves...:chat:

Appears the next big project will be the revamping of PI.

Other then that, I've heard some of the torn seats on the monorail are due to get new duct tape put on them.

Word on the street is that they found a cheaper brand of toilet paper. The TP savings has been green lighted to offset the cost of the tape.

The project may be delayed while the legal department investigates the possiblity of a tax credit for using recycled tape.

Honestly, if we see this new tape before DVC AKL is completed, I'll be surprised.

I heard that in order to pay for the duct tape, they were going to raise ticket prices again. :Pokepoke:

No, they raised ticket prices so they could buy Pixar.

I understand that outsoucing the labor required for monorail tape application will save $1.2B annually. :goodvibes

Seriously, the next big thing to actually open after EE should be whatever they are doing with the sea cabs in The Living Seas. Lately I've been hearing Fall '06 (which was preceded by Spring '06.)

As for PI, virtually all of the existing PI area could be gone before long, including popular sites like the Adventurer's Club. Popular in the hearts of fans, that is, which doesn't necessarily mean profitable.

One or two months ago I read a well-reasoned article somewhere on the net explaining why PI was a failure. Contributing factors included the inability to run busses from the theme parks direct to PI (had to be stopped due to folks using the DTD lot as free parking) and the fact that several other "entertainment districts" in Orlando do not require a fee to enter.

This is overly simplistic, but it appears they may demolish everything, chop up the land and lease it a la Raglan Road to corporations who want to construct and run their own dining and entertainment ventures.

They are going to concentrate on leasing out the water front properties first as they have the most value.

Part of the problem is that the two most popular PI locates - AC and CC - don't generate a lot of income but are still labor intensive.

I'll be curious too to see what is on the horizon. Now that Eiger is in charge he will probably want to "make his mark", so to say, with a theme park. Don't know if you can actually say E:E is his, b/c it was started during Eisner's reign. Maybe the aquistion of Pixar is Eiger's mark? :idontgeti
