I was wondering if anyone has/will soon make reservations for the 2008 F&W Festival? I'm in the middle for 10/11-10/16, but I may try to change it to 10/18-10/25. I haven't decided yet. This will be my first F&W trip and I'm so excited!

Sorry, Rozzie, I read your post wrong. Well, we got free dining with the bounceback program (where you had to book for 2008 BEFORE your last day of vacation). Free dining to the general public has not been released and probably won't until sometime in April.

Columbus Day is a very busy time - I'd avoid it if you can.

Columbus Day weekend-that's a real good point-I'd forgotten about that. We'll be away over Thanksgiving, but I'm gonna try to book the following week in October when we get back. Thanks again for reminding me about Columbus Day.

Finished my ressie for the F&W trip. Oct 26-29th 2 bed standard at the BWV's and then 29th -31st in a 2 bedroom at the VWL.. First time to do a split stay at both my home resorts! :sunny:

Since I have found out Nono and I are the same age, I can verify that infomation. Definately was widely joked about in college. I was oh so tempted to ask 'what exit?' when meeting last week, but held my tongue since I would have no clue what the answer might mean - or if others would find it funny.

Ahhh, gotta love that Florida weather. 50 degree differences are the norm in Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb. (or at least when I lived there) Just all depends on a cold front. But if I had to pick I would go for later Oct to get a bit further away from cane' season myself.

Since we've never been yet, we don't know what to expect. Should we make ADRs now or are there special food events planned so dinner reservations are not needed?

There are special dining events, however, they haven't been announced yet..They are usually announced around 5/1..
I personally dont make a lot of ADR's @ Epcot during F & W, but on the weekend, I make at least one, because I figure thats when the booths will be their busiest.

Hello! We will be over lapping a little. We will be there Oct 15-21 at OKW. My mother and I went for the F&WF a couple of years ago and just loved it. Personally I look at when the Majic Hours are since we always take advantage of the late hours and I do make ADR (already have mine) but ofcourse I end up sometimes changing them-I already have one I am considering changing.
We will sign up for some of the special events like the Party for the Senses which you need to sign up for right away. They are only on Saturday night and book up quickly. We also enjoyed The Cook The Book and The Bottle, Sweet Sundays and Kitchen Conversations.
I am not real sure if we will be able to do more than Party for the Senses this year since it will be Mom, Dad, myself, DH, and DD 14(I don't remember if kids are allowed since many of them do include wine and I don't want to leave her alone while we participate in the events.)

In case anyone's thinking of going to the F&W festival, you'd better already be booked! I called MS today to firm up my plans, add a couple days due to Southwest's best (ie-cheapest) days. Well, there's practically no availability in October for studios except at SSR. Home less than 24 hours from one trip and I have to have another trip planned.

Thanks!! You learn something new everyday. Didn't realize when booking WDW I could book before my use year started.

Booked day before yesterday. Will be staying in a 1 bedroom at SSR and also got a lunch ressie for the castle on the day I wanted!!! Couldn't get breakfast, but what the heck, we're going to be on vacataion and I GET TO EAT IN THE CASTLE (not excited or anything)!:woohoo:

Also, went ahead and made the rest of my ADR's for dinners the nights we will be there. Figured I might as well get it out of the way all at once.

My DH and I plan our trips too!!! I don't know what park we planned to be in on that day, I need to dig out my schedule and see. If we're close, we'll stop by. I'd love to meet some of you face to face (and wish your DW a happy anniversary of her natal day!!). It might be our only opportunity for a while. I have my own business and giving myself time off means I don't make any money.:worried:

DH and I will at F & W 10/16 to 10/19, staying at BWV (now in preferred view, waitlisted for BW view) We plan to go to the Sat PFTS, and if we can get in a Friday Food and Wine Pairing at Le Cellier, and maybe a Sweet Sunday. Have to leave time for the food booths, and we've never done one of the free wine tastings.

I hope people know the Oct shuttle launch was moved to November. We finally saw a launch on 5/31. Awesome!
