Holy Craparoo Laura!!!!!!! You're PACKED???????? I need to get off MO and get my arse in gear. Do have all the ADR's made--yep I even made ADR's!!!!!!!
I made a add to Locker list...
I need to make a Publix list for when we get down there. Also been mulling over on how much and what alcohol to buy list. ;)
Let's see, need to make hair appt, get pedicure, get heartworm medicine, get more dog food, pay bills, pack, do laundry, clean house for sitter. Good thing I got 3 weeks, but I know I usually wait to the very last minute and freak out doing things the last 24 hours.
Won't be long!!!!! :cheers2:

Geez, Laura, you ARE ready!!
Haven't packed yet, but I've got a pile already to go (some of it into my Owner's Locker). Got my hair cut and made a manicure appointment. Have all my ADR's made.
I think once I get through Thanksgiving and family, I'll be more than ready for a nice little Disney trip.....and I'll be ready to hang with some TRUE disney fans. (I know I'll be hearing the old "You're going to Disney AGAIN???? from family at Thanksgiving).

My suitcase is out and a few things are in it. I have certain shirts that I only wear at WDW separated but I won't pack them until the night before to avoid wrinkling them when I add other stuff to the suitcase.
Did my wegoshop order, got my ME tags, already have AP, DDE card is on the way (they told me they mailed it yesterday), and my packing list is sitting on my dresser with a number of things crossed off--mostly due to tons of stuff already being in my owner's locker.
Am I excited yet? YESSSSSS!!!!!! :goob::santa:

That's not what I heard. I thought you said you were going to Nappannee, Indiana to live amongst the Amish and learn broom-making and the production of maple syrup, apple butter and lye soap.

OMG, I just got my DME documents today-I guess it's really going to happen now. I guess I'd better get started practicing my Segway skills.
We watched the Jingle Jungle Parade on YouTube...and the baby started dancing like a nut! He was so  when it ended. I think he'll be amazed when he sees it full sized!

Well ... I've started getting ready. I have a box that I have started with that I will be shipping a week early to hold at POR (staying on cash this trip --- decided in September to go) for my Owner's Locker. It seems silly to me but I am as excited about getting my owners locker as I am about the trip. I have bought several things on Ebay to put in my locker. Brita Sports bottles (5) with extra filters. Carabiners for the water bottles, 4 fanny packs, a bath set (loofah, back brush, nail brush, massager). I have a whole list of things to buy at Walgreens: nail clippers, emery boards, eye ointment, Phillips Milk of Magnesia, Mylanta, Immodium, Benadyl, Ecotrin, cotton balls. Qtips. And then there are the two companies that I order from over the internet for vitamins and facial care. I will have 3 packages, plus my owner's locker waiting for me! My husband thinks that I have lost my mind. I am THRILLED to only pack this stuff once and then have it there! I have all of this stuff programmed into my Palm Pilot so that I can get it done at just the right moment.
Unfortunately, we will be missing most of the MO events. The only thing that we will overlap for is the chocolate tour --- but I am really looking forward to meeting some of you.

We actually find that EE isn't to bad many people think it will be overcrowded so they avoid the EE parks and go elsewhere which helps cut down on the traffic in the park. Plus with that being a taping day at MK for the x mas parade it should lighten the numbers at most of the other parks considrably I would imagine. As for meeting to go on the safari that sounds great. We wil have to figure out where to meet and when.

I know exactly what you mean. I always tell myself not to look too soon because it can change so easily and it's really hard to get realistic predictions this far out. But I can't help it, I always look anyway. And yeah, if the what they forecast now is correct it looks like super duper weather. I don't care that if it doesn't get super hot, but I am always happy when the lows are not less than mid fifties or low sixties, and so far so good! :dancingba

Yes the our Feb trip a few years back was borderline miserable when it came to weather. (you can ask nono on that too) It was okay during the day--not pool weather for sure--, but at night, 30s is not fun trying to watch parades and fireworks :brrrrrr: . I am very cold natured anyway, and I was really miserable at night. Well as miserable as you can be in WDW. ;)

I'm about halfway packed. Now I am playing "obsess over the weather". I KNOW (as I posted earlier in this thread) that it's too soon for the forecast to be dependable, but it's this disease I have. I simply cannot stop myself from checking. Yesterday's extended forecast looked pretty depressing--they were saying high in mid sixties and low in (ouch!) low forties. Today looks MUCH better, now the forecast is for highs in the mid to upper 70s and lows in mid 50's. I know darn well that I shouldn't look until 3-4 days ahead, but I torture myself by loooking anyway. I think I need some sort of intervention, LOL. I am (mentally) ! :D

Oh, you are not the only one that does that, Mar'.....I have been obsessively checking the weather....This is why I am always overpacked...I pack for any and all occasions.
Rozzie
11-24-2007, 03:14 PM
Well if you need a intervention, I should expect the wagon to come and cart me away any minute. ;)
Warm weather trips I tend to pack ahead, as I know exactly what I need. "Cold" weather trips I stalk accuweather like it's some sort of demi-god. I just can't pack a lot till' I know what I need to pack for. Winter clothes are so bulky and take up so much room, and we are only allowed one bag a piece on the flight. Also I ordered a 2nd locker, and want to take some extra stuff down, but don't know how much room I will have to pack it KWIM? So I check accuweather several times a day, which is a joke, as it changes so much, but I have the illness too, and there is no cure I tell ya'!!!!
So here I wait, and wait till' a little closer. More than likely, I will pack the day before we leave. I'm going to get the suitcases out today, at least I'll feel a little less behind if they are laying out on a bed somewhere. :upsidedow

Thanks for making me feel a little less nutso Athenna and Rozaroo. I find there's not much difference in my packing if it turns out to be cold. I just wear more layers. About the only difference is that if it's REALLY cold I pack long underwear and gloves. What a lifesaver it is to have long johns on when walking through Epcot on a cold night! Even when it's 45 it feels like about 20 to me there, especially in World Showcase. :thumbsway

Just as an FYI in case anyone doesn't know: The viewing won't be cancelled if it rains (but for sure it will be nicer if it doesn't).
But let's all not panic yet! You know how it is at WDW Rozaroo--it can pour for 10 minutes and then turn beautiful the entire rest of the day. And besides Monday is many days away, you know the forecast can (and probably will) change repeatedly between now and then.

I just saw rain for Monday. I will be so bummed if rain messes with the Illuminations viewing, Mr. Roz and I have talking about it for a eternity. :worried:
Okay, just catching up on posts.......no need to fret!!! There is an alternate plan already on board, just in case the weather doesn't cooperate. That was why I needed everyone's phone number. We will have our desserts indoors, then they'll march us out to our viewing area for the fireworks. I was told they pretty much NEVER cancel Illuminations unless it's extreme weather, which I don't think showers fall into that category.
Let's keep our fingers crossed that, if there are any showers, that they'll all be over with before we head out to see Off Kilter. I've been in Florida so many times where they're predicted 65-80% chance of rain....three drops of rain and that was it.
So I'm totally optimistic that a great night is in store for all of us!!!!!

Yikes! missed the cell phone post....just PM'd you

Shorts, bathing suits, sweaters, hat & gloves (MVMCP looks like a cold night!). I remember now why I can't stand visiting FL in Dec/Jan/Feb. It's hard to pack light! :headache:

We are VERY excited...leaving Sunday. Packed??? Nope. Suitcases are out, toiletries are starting to come together, but that's all. Won't be doing the laundry til Friday night after work, pack Saturday morning, manicure Saturday afternoon. I found if I pack too soon, I either bring too much or pack and unpack too many times. I have part of my clothes packed, some of D's stuff packed and nothing for S or H. That will change today. I'm really only worried 'bout the kids on MVMCP night, as cold kids mean early departure. On the Hayride, we'll be able to snuggle with them, so not as much of an issue. Daytime is all set! I just set aside a few summer clothes a few weeks ago for everyone. BUT, I must remember to actually pack them! :tilt:

We are leaving on Sat. on the autotrain so at least I will have it packed in the car. Won't have to take very much on the train. But I will probably fill the car back up for the trip home with Christmas gifts from my mother for the great grandkids & grandkids.

Melody-no kennels here. Last time I kenneled I got a call that Inky broke her leg. I know now that it was a pathologic fracture, but the way it was all handled really left a bad taste in my mouth to say the least. Fortunately my mom is pretty desperate for some extra Christmas money. It will probably work this trip, but like you, I am grieving at the possibility something has happened to my beloved dog sitter. Just last month we talked and confirmed everything up. I am way baffled. :idontgeti
So, like all trips, I dream "Disney" the last few nights. Last night I dreamed I was staying in a cabin at FW, that had no shower, just a hose in the middle of the kitchen with a drain, and had to bath in the kitchen. Then I raced to the illuminations dessert gathering, to discover 8 of my screwball family members were trying to hustle their way in. :blech:

Yes, we've at CIS before, but not this one. We like them very much. We stay for free using our GoldPoints card. They have a great "continental" breakfast which includes eggs, meats, make-your-own Mickey waffles, etc. Rooms have always been clean & fresh, staff above average.

We do Country Inn & Suites on all our trips if we can. We've had very good experiences with them along the I-95 corridor, which can have it's fair share of horrible motels.
Rooms are always clean, breakfast buffet is more than adequate and they usually have a pool that my kids like to use.
BTW, Viking, which one are you crashing at? We used one Kingsland, GA and another in Jacksonville.
All that said, for clean restroom and a free cup of decent coffee on the road, we always pit-stop at the Hampton Inn, but never actually stayed in one.

Of course, it all depends on the incoming plane that we're supposed to board, and where it's coming in from.
