Here's what happened.....

We finally arrived at Samoset Resort by 3:15pm on the seconday day of our journey. Bargains were found on the way via excursions to Kittery Outlet and the L.L.Bean Flagship store.

"Just south of Camden, Maine, cradled between lush green hills and the blue waters of Penobscot Bay lies the Samoset resort, a perfect retreat for a romantic getaway....."

"Open year round, the 230 acre resort offers championship golf, tennis, massage service and indoor outdoor swimming pools." Does that sound like to anyone else but me.... that you might get in a round of golf or some tennis.....if the weather permits? :scratchch Okay, so it was only me that had hoped to hit a few tennis balls around the court. :bored: However, spa treatments are available for Mrs.Monk! Its all good.

Check-in occurs at the main complex. This facility has the hotel rooms, restaurants, health club and several conference rooms. Our check-in went smoothly and soon we were off to our timeshare unit.

Adjacent to the hotel complex are three separate buildings with 72 time share units. Each unit has views of Penobscot Bay. Our one bedroom is nicely and comfortably appointed. Turns out we got a "partial kitchen" this is similar to the kitchen we had at an OKW studio. The space is a bit tight for the two of us. If you had children, plan on a lot of family togetherness or make sure you specifically request a "full"kitchen because they also have more space! We'd also recommend requesting the second or third floor to maximize views of the bay.

After a trip to the local supermarket to stock up our pantry in the "paritial kitchen"..... we turn on the news to scope out the latest extended weather reports for the area.

Drat that Noel! It is expected to reach our area by mid afternoon the next day. The locals are warning everyone to stay indoors and off the roads! Hmmmmmm, If we get an early start...... We can squeeze in a quick loop around Acadia National park the next day.

Have a wonderful time at Acadia. That is one beautiful place.
We went there in February one year and saw a totally different scene. Enjoy!

When we get home, I'll try to down load some of the pictures to the trip report.
