View Full Version : RESOLVED - Slow Server Response Times

Hi, All --
We're aware that we've been experiencing dramatically slowed response times lately. :(
The reason for the slowed response time is quite simple: we've grown enough that we need to move MO to its own dedicated server. We have too many gosh-darned members who actually are active! (Plus, we're upgrading and making major improvements to the resource site; these improvements are bandwidth-consumptive. And, we're hoping to upgrade vBulletin, too. All of these projects will take place before the new year begins.)
Anyway, we're investigating different options available to us. We anticipate that it may take up to a week to get everything set up on a new server. Please bear with us during that time as we work to make MO a better place.
Thanks,
Kim
(P.S. -- We'll try to let you know when the transition is taking place as well as when it is finished. However, no guarantees... though you'll certainly know when it is finished.)

Good luck and thanks Kim.
Upgrades can be a nightmare! They always seem to take three times as log as you thought they would and 90% of the time break something that was working fine before the update.
I speak from experience..

Thanks for keeping us posted, Kim...I thought it was just me...The ironic thing is, I tried to post this hours ago, but I couldn't reply.

MO has been installed on a new server. You should notice much more rapid connectivity (depending upon your connection, of course).

Yet another reason to come to us instead of this DIS.
MO = Fios
DIS = dial-up
