We'll be there May 16-19th. :kickingco
Still need to book the room. I'll probably try for SV BWV first (for the low points.) I highly doubt I'll get that and will gladly take SSR instead.

will be there weekend 1. May 17--23, SSR.
DH is playing his SW game now, talking to himself about what he is going to say to Vader if he see's him. Okay, just a little excited????:scratchch Seriously, DH and I have been wanting to do SWW forever. We are finally doing it. We have a whole drawer of SW tshirts we are picking out to wear. Yep, we will be the geeks out in front. I don't blame you if you will be too embarrassed to say HI!

I can totally relate Rozzie! You'll probably be able to pick us out of the crowd!
DS-6 wore his Anakin (adult-aged) Halloween costume last year to SWW and is wearing it again this year. He got ALOT of attention and loved every moment of it. He wants Daddy to dress-up too. They both dressed up for MNSSHP, DS was Anakin (did I say we got a lot of mileage out of this costume LOL) and DH was Obi-Wan. They both wanted to get the "infant" costume of Princess Leia for DD...but it's fleece and Mommy said a big NO to that in May!
They are already putting together all their Star Wars gear....t-shirts, lightsabers, trivia books to study from....driving me crazy already!!

LOL, DH was going to be Obi-Wan for MNSSHP, but "mommy" wouldn't spring for the $350 Jedi hand crafted leather boots on ebay, and he said anything less would be sacrireligous. So he protested and only wore his Sith shirt, and I wore my "I love Darth Vader" tee. We did see the most amazing Darth Maul there. We were in awe. :worship:

We'll be there May 18 - 22. Just a short visit, so we won't have too much time to spend any one place. It will be our younger DS' first trip. (will be 17 months by then - went with us to DL Oct 2005 at 10 months and loved the rides we took him on and meeting characters). Not certain that SWW will be worth too much (or any) time for him, I think Muppet 3D will be more his speed. Even DS6 does not know that much about SW, so we'll play it by ear. Maybe we should just avoid MGM altogether:crowded: ? Does anyone have any suggestions about this?
I am thinking more of our time would probably be better spent in MK and AK. Plus I am very keen to see F&G at Epcot:blueflowe :flowerfor , but I digress.
FYI when I booked it three weeks ago they said the only places with studios available were at OKW and SSR, so if you are contemplating a visit better hurry and book it.

Welcome! We found that MGM was very crowded during SWW but the lines for the rides were not bad at all. Most of the people there are SW fans so they tend to go to the SW related events (trivia contests, meet & greets etc) The only ride we found a line on was Star Tours. It seems very crowded, especially near the Star Tours ride area and over by WWTBAM, but other than that most non-SW fans seem to avoid the park. This may have just been our experience last year.
If you do decide to go, try to get your son in the Jedi Training. My son is now 6 and he did this last year and it was the highlight of his life LOL. (But he's a BIG SW fan!) The learn basic Jedi principles, learn how to use the lightsaber and then duel with either Darth Vader or Darth Maul. (Which can also be scary, depending on the child) They get a certificate and last year they got a action figure too. It's fun to watch too if he doesn't want to participate. :)

Thank you for the information about crowds, it is very helpful. I think my DS would really like the Jedi training. If there is one thing he does know about from SW, it is light sabres. It sounds like a lot of fun. How does one sign up for this, is it arranged in advance?

Unfortunately, there is no sign up for it. The pick kids out of the crowd before the show. Best advice is to get there early before the show and get up close. Make sure your child makes himself seen by being excited. They picked about 20 kids.
When DS did it, we went to the first show of the day, were the first ones there and he was the last one picked! We were all ready to have a heart attack if he didn't get picked LOL I had this vision in my mind of spending 10 hours in front of that stage sitting through every show until he got picked for his training. That was the one thing he HAD to do. He was dressed in his Anakin Skywalker costume and was jumping up and down like crazy. Other people standing around us started jumping around and pointing at him too so they would pick him LOL
He got to fight Darth Vader and was ecstatic! (although the irony was a bit weird for DH, a huge SW fan himself.....Anakin Skywalker dueling Darth Vader :scratchch )

Just curious, are you only spending the 3 nights or are you staying somewhere else for other nights too? I only ask b/c you are coming such a long way for those 3 nights. We did it last weekend but our flight is "only" 2 1/2 hours (although it seemed like 10 with the kids :hammer: )
I hope you have a great time whatever your plans may be! :goodvibes
