MF's would be less than $5K....you could pretty much lock up studio accomodations... including weekends for about 4 months or so... :D
Well, if you could rent 500 points each year for $10 per, you'd cover your fees and enjoy your 656 remaining points. I'd be happy with 656 "free" points a year, but the rental business would be a full time affair. You'd be in a constant state of calling, contracting, transferring, billing, dunning, etc.

So seriously, would anyone ever buy that? You could never sell it again!
If someone wants 1000 points, wouldn't they break it up into, like, 4 250 point contracts? I think these must have been sold before people were thinking of it that way. Or maybe they have so much money, they just don't care :p .
Well, there are a handful that own 1,000 points and from what I gather some are "business" arrangements, using them to reward employees and such. Still, thems alot a points and they won't be owned in my household anytime soon.

Well, I'm with you, not at my house! But if my employer wanted ideas on how to reward me, then...

Good question! From my pm'ing with him, he seems like a really decent person. I bet he'd feel right at home here!

Tom would be a great plus to this site....but he is very closely tied to the other one. Not only is he a sponsor, but I believe they also host his site and I'm sure he gets a fair amount of traffic from their site too....so it is in his best interest right now, not to alienate them

Tom cannot alienate them, but I know he is a sponsor on other boards and not exclusive to the other place. I PM'd him, but have not heard back. It's been about 2 weeks sinc ehe posted at the other place, so he may be away. Last I heard from him, he was VERY busy. I expect he'll show when he gets a chance.
I have $6 and a popcorn bag wrapper to add to the fund. (I'd really like to keep a buck for an afternoon snack, though.)

My first reaction was that a contract like that would never pass ROFR at that low price. BUt, HEY! Maybe we should all pool our resources and "co -own" it! :dancingba

He is closely tied to the other sit but there is also Shontell (the one we can't mention) and Jaki who may be interested. Someone should send them an e-mail.

Not wanting to violate any rules this early
Rule #1: Have fun.
Rule #2: If in doubt, refer to Rule #1.

Simple enough even for me :)

Yes, MF=Maintenance Fees.
I had a brain cramp. I use the term "Dues" rather then "Fees" for some unknown reason and could not make the connection to what you were saying. Since the "D" & "F" keys are next to each other, I just figured you fat fingered a key.
But none the less, here in Jersey, MF does have another meaning.

It's for Old Key West. And there are banked points, so it's a steal.
Check it out:

:scratchch There just has to be a way to make that work....... If someone rented all of the banked points the first year to make the downpayment( - of course, that would be a full-time job - so they would get fired and not be able to make the rest of the payments!), and then rented half of them every year, as said before, to make the maint fees - well - then you'd get about 500 a year to vacation on. But then you'd be so pooped and broke from renting points all year and looking for a new job, you couldn't afford the AP's! I think I'll stick with my 250...... :faint:

Then we could call it "TIMESHARING". :Pokepoke:

Yes, Carrie I am feeling much better. I know I'd told you I had a list of things I wanted to accomplish, all having to do with the business, and they are almost complete. Have you taken a look at our listings recently? We're up to 100, what a selection to choose from! That makes me happy. This year has had so many unexpected things take place, it's been one strategy session after another. :chat:
How can we work this weekend thing with the big package? :sherlock:
Maybe reserve a Grand Villa for every weekend during the year and make it an "open house" for all of our friends on the DVC Boards. Wouldn't it be fun to be able to drop in there and know your friends would be waiting for you or coming by at anytime. It could be used just for the expensive point nights for those who need a place to crash for those nights. A really big "SLUMBER PARTY". At the very least it could be like an "OPEN HOUSE"! :rockband:
This started out to be something silly, but the more I think about it, this could be a very nice business introduction for The Timeshare Store, inc.
What do you think???
