I have been bouncing in my head a time to get started. I was thinking a 2pm kick off time. That would have those going to the MVMCP plenty of time to have dinner or whatever before the party. (Or join the Rozzie's for more rounds ;) )

I was also going to PM my cell phone #, that way you can call me, and I'll let you know what resort we are at, if you can't make it till' a little later.

Is 2pm really bad time? Open comments and suggestions, please!

Cheers Friends! :cheers2:

Houston we have a problem. I know the Poly opens up at 1pm, and I have had drinks in the afternoon at CR, but was thinking last time I had drinks at GF it was later in day, and sure enough went on Debs site and it doesn't open up to 5pm!!!!
THoughts????????????????????????

Oh I don't care. I'll let ya'll decide. We'll be taking the MK Bus over, LOL. No driving for us!

You know -- we should all just plan to end the 'thon at the Poly, and then do dinner at ohana at 5 or 5:15 (ordering additional drinks, of course). And then 'railing it back to MK for MVMCP.

Just a thought.

I'm game. Just wonder what availability is like.

I just know I have to eat something or I'll be a worthless party goer. Ahh, middle age. :D

Tell me about it. I do sleepy really, really well after drinking on an empty stomach.

Shall I call tomorrow and check on general availability (at least for the time?)

Sounds good, at least we know if it's even available.

It sounds like a good plan thinking about it, as I know I was getting a little worried when I read CHH wouldn't be open for the party. I was plan on having a sober up Tuna Sandwich there. :innocent:

Roz...I just don't want the start time to conflict with the Pirates tutorial and POC ride time at MK earlier that day...although the ride won't take that long, the tutorial is at set times and for some reason I thought it was 12:45 . If that's the case, 2 might be pushing it and I think the whole crowd who is doing the tutorial is also doing the drinkathon. Would 2:30 be better?

I'm not sure how many people who are doing MVMXP have APs...but if you don't have an AP, you can get into MK starting at 4pm on the MVMXP ticket.

I guess for most of us if we 'finish' the 'Thon at MK we can all take buses back to our resorts. (Yuck...a bus to BWV while drunk sounds notsofun...maybe we need to hire designated drivers!!!!! (or maybe TWs guide will do it....oh cabana boy!)

CB, 2:30 is good. Sorry, I was not even thinking of the POTC tutorial and all that. Didn't mean to overlap. Sorry Allison! :flowerfor

The Rozzie's might have a warm up drink with the nono's before the official firing of the gun of the 'thon. All are free to join us in the warm up area. ;)

Aww, CB, think of it as a adventure! How many times do you get the opportunity to ride WDW transportation intoxicated? :hahahaha:

We do it at least once each trip.

Where's the warm-up?

We're only doing MVMCP that day, so we won't be at the POTC 'do.

Mmmm. What do ya'll think? Just judging by the monorail route, CR would be a good place. It's a easy walk from MK. (or monorail ride!) :)

Kim--nono and I were talking about maybe warming up starting at 2pm. I think she might cut out early and take her clan over early to the party around 5ish. My personal goal is to be at the party around 630ish. (it goes to midnight, right?) We could have the warmup at CR too, whatcha think?

Well,

I really wish I could make this one but as of now I'm not going to be in the World over those dates. I would love to meet all of you and have a few (well, maybe many:lmbo: ) libations.

What is the exact date? I might have to squeeze in another trip............

Okay, I just called about ohana, and they have no availability until after 9 that night. So, I guess that option is out. Looks like Eric and I, at least, will have to do quick service at wherever it is we end the 'thon. I think it would be a total buzzkill to barf on Space Mountain.

Sounds good to me. Starting out MVMCP with appetizers and a Mai Tai would be perfect!!

Thanks re the 2:30...I'll 'push' the POC group to be at CR as early as we can somewhere between 2 and 2:30. Yippee!!! I can personally testify that appetizers at the Poly are yummy!

I just realized that those of us who can't stand riding the buses to BWV or BC could opt for monorailing to the TTC and then catching the monorail to Epcot and walking through Epcot to dinner, to rides or to home!!! This would be longer, but we might be able to cat nap on the monorail!!!! Any non-MVMXP takers????

I've done that stint more than once, and I really just prefer to crash on the bus. I really don't mind the bus, as long as I have a seat. Then again, Mr. Roz has more than 1 picture of me with my mouth open snoring away.

So I have a question: do we have a drink at EVERY bar at each resort (that is open) So at CR we drink at the pool bar, the monorail bar etc or just the main bar? As for GF....I swear that it serves alcohol at its daily tea so wouldn't a bar have to be open inside?????

So far, it looks like it will be drink at Outer Rim Lounge at CR, then drink at Poly at Tamboo Lounge, then when we get to GF, go downstairs to pool bar and have drink. I was thinking GF's was open earlier, but couldn't remember, Mitzer's I think is the name, but looked on Debs site and it clearly states 5pm open. I know a lot of places have a "back bar" that is limited and out of site, lower operational costs just to serve what lower volume alcohol time. It could be just a 1 foot area. But that's a good point CB.

I know I had alcohol when I went to the Tea (shocker but I had the shakes-- I was with my mother ;) ), some champagne, but I don't know if a full bar selection was available.

As a side note, I never quite understood Disney's bar hours, they are all different animals it seems. I know we had a CM at Outer Rim tell us one time they get a lot of Dad's with empty baby strollers that are over sensored and need a shot of courage. Poly, well, gosh dern you walk into the place thinking tropical drinks I suppose. Then GF decides to be like the other hotel bars on property and open up at 5pm. But my point is this, (I actually do have one this time) why the hades do they open up at 5pm? Do they think people abstain before 5pm while on vacation? Sure most people are at the parks, but a lot of people come back to resort for afternoon breaks. Especially in the winter, as one who has worn her Ski Parka to Hurricane Hannah's, as Martha's Vineyard doesn't open up to 5pm. I know, I know operational costs, but it still STINKS! :margarita

The pool bar at the GF is open the same hours as the pool according to what I see online. Is that an option for you guys? There are actually two pool bars and both are listed as being open when the pool is open. ("The Grand Floridian Pool Bar offers up drinks and a lunch menu of sandwiches and burgers".)
("There are two pools at the Grand Floridian. The main, themed pool is call the Courtyard Pool and it is open 24 hours. There is a pool bar nearby. The smaller pool, called the Beach Pool, is located on the side of the main building, on the way to the Spa and Health Club. It also has a pool bar nearby, but is only open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.")

Might that work? http://tagrel.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_drunkard.gif

Thanks Mararooo. I bet the Beach Pool Bar is the bar I am thinking of. You sure you don't want to join us? Kathy is going to drive the monorail. :D Seriously, I understand, 230pm already is slotted for something else. Mmmnm, wonder what that could be? Mmmmn...

I am not sure but I think that was directed at me Stimparoo, as I believe Roz was asking if I wanted to join you all for the drinkathon. 2:30 is the first Off Kilter show of the day! And for me (as I am sure you know, LOL) :kilt beats :margarita :woohoo: every time! ;)
