On my trip in a few days, my 4 & 6 year old nieces will be there. Should we bring one stroller or two strollers for them? I'm thinking one stroller and if they want, they can take turns in the stroller and if BOTH are tired at the same time, one can always be carried on the shoulders.
When we took them to Disneyland for three days a couple of years ago, they did not want the stroller at all. They're very active girls and the then 2 year old just wanted to be on my sister's shoulders.

One is probably a good idea and they can take turns riding. Plus with 2, you have to break them down each time you get on a bus.

When we went in 2/05, DD was 5. We rented one each day at the parks. Allowed DD to rest so she didn't get tired from a lot of walking. It made a good napping vehicle too. Plus we didn't have to haul it with us when we left the park. They do have dual strollers available.

One caveat. Strollers tend to turn into grocery carts. So you wind up carrying 2 girls and a still have to push the cart. You might want to take advantage of the package delivery.

Our last trip was the first time we didnt get a stroller for the girls (4 and 6). Up until this trip my husband would wait in the bag secuirty line with all our bags and I would take the kids thru the no bag line, and rent a doulbe stroller for them. The timing was great, by the time we had the stroller DH was thru security.

We found we made better time, could stay in the parks longer, and less melt downs with the stroller.

if BOTH are tired at the same time, one can always be carried on the shoulders........ the then 2 year old just wanted to be on my sister's shoulders.

But shoulders are what uncles are for! My poor dh almost always has the youngest on either sidde on his shoulders, or behind him in teh bike cart.

The melt-down factor is the key. Strolling can extend your stay.

The last time we used one, DS was 5 and DD was 9. We brought 1 and even the 9 year old took advantage of it late in the evening, (we tend to be commando park visitors.)

But having the extra adult around, especially Meister-uncle LeftCoaster, could be enough. And the heat won't be too bad.

Enjoy

My sister has said that they are going to forego the strollers and have the girls walk. Apparently, a couple of months ago, they did away with the strollers and told the girls "you have to walk everywhere to get ready for Disneyworld."
Worse comes to wose, we do have three sets of shoulders available for use, and we can always rent a stroller. And I never carry packages in the parks. That's what resort delivery is for. =)

Funny just how different kids are. My oldest hasn't used a stroller at WDW since she was 3!!! Numerous trips walked all the parks for a full week no problems! Just the other day DH and I were discussing the stroller situation next spring break for our youngest - who will be 5 then. He said no way are we bringing a stroller again. I really think she needs a stroller there still. I'll end up carrying her otherwise. :faint:

I think renting a double sounds like a good idea. They can take turns or even huddle together if needed at night.

Not even my 2 yr old will use a stroller anymore :hammer:

It is walk on his own or be on Daddy's shoulders :goodvibes

We still take a stroller just in case of need for nap by our 2 yr old and of course to be the clothes/food/shopping pack-mule device

cheers
