Thanks for posting the link, Denise. We typically stay at a Moderate for 1 night after the drive down, and have never tried CBR.

The resort wasn't my favorite, but it's growing on me. The walk was lovely, I'm going to throw it into my rotation of walks at Disney that I do regularly. Loads of flowers and wildlife, which I very much like.

Thanks!

I do like the grounds, but I'm going to put in a request for Coronado Spring. :D (cheeky of me, eh?) We're thinking of staying there next May for 3 nights before 5 nights at AKV.

Wow, Denise....After viewing your pics I had to rethink my CBR opinion. Long ago and far away, CBR was Disney's first attempt at building a 'economy' resort. We checked it out when it was essentially brand new, and I was bothered by the walkway/hall that went right in front of the room's windows. (I ' m a no curtain should ever be closed kinda person, and a not too many clothes kind a person and so this poses a problem as I need sunlight/moonlight in my room at all times:laughing: , So, for me, this resort just wasn't cutting it. And I never went back. Don't know if all the buildings, details and the LAKE were there all along, but I now find (from your pics) the lake views, the walkways and bridges really cool!

At the same time, I was shocked at the proximity to the bowling ball!!!! With the 'can't get there from here' of Disdesignmentality, I thought they were much farther apart. Looks like a great place for a morning walk, so might have to check it out next trip...Thanks for the walking review!:jumpingbe

Hi!

I actually had the same experience as you. My family had always stayed at the Polynesian when I was growing up, every year for like 8 years. So the CBR was sort of jarring for me, and I think that it has colored my view of the resort since.

I have gone there to eat, to spend time with friends, but I've never walked the whole way around the lake before and found it a beautiful walk - and a lovely resort. I knew that the two resorts (POP and CBR) were very close, I've known people who have walked it. I am going to try that next month, getting some walk time in at CBR, if I can figure out how!

You can't see the bowling pin from most areas of CBR. Only from that Trinidad area, you won't see it from the main building - or much of the resort.

Why is this a problem? Seems like it might only be a problem for the nosy lookie-loos who are also prudes! :upsidedow

Denise, I like this walk as well. It's in my experience generally not too heavily travelled, and can be made as long or as short as one would like.

I am not a big fan of staying at the resort, but about once a year I do drive over for the walk.

This wasn't one I was familiar with, I've stayed and eaten - but not walked all the way around. It's really nice! I plan to walk there at least a couple of times next month when at the Pop Century.

I added a little more text, in case anyone is interested in what village I was walking through at any given time.

I am looking forward to going to Disney tomorrow, to see a naked Spaceship Earth!

Wonderful pictures as always.

I have avoided CBR in my planning but based on these pictures I might need to rethink that

Thanks! :) CBR has always been my least favorite moderate, but I actually really enjoyed the walking there (I've never walked the entire way around the lake before). It's a beautiful property, I definitely have re-thunk it myself!

word has the Spaceship Earth crane might go away tomorrow - so it can be truly naked and unadorned! I understand it needs a shave, though - the little posts holding the stars were still there as of yesterday afternoon. Maybe they went down last night or will go away tonight.

I hope so! I plan to go during the day, and in the evening (not too late) to get some photos. :) I hope it gets its shave first!

Hey Denise....
since I'll be at Pop Sept 28 for two nights (but that first night we are doing HHN at Universal) maybe we can try a little walk at CBR on the 30th?

Also, if you are at all interested, I have one more spot for dinner at CRT Tuesday, Oct 2 at 8:45. We have a table for 4 and its my sis and I and B'rer Karen right now. The ressie is paid for 3 but I know I can add one more to 'the table'. I love WISHES from in front of the castle, but having seen Wishes from inside once before...it is rather delightful.

I think 9/30 would be great, I don't think I have anything planned that morning (I have to start actually putting everything in my calendar so I don't forget anyone!) :)

And thank you for the invitation to Cinderellas! I think I might leave before then (my last night is the 1st, and we may be dealing with moving to a house at that time), but thank you for thinking of me. :)

Thanks for the pics. We actually spent our Honeymoon at CBR back in 94 so it was nice to look at the pics and remember that first trip we ever took to WDW.

Thanks! That is one of the most popular photo walks so far (much moreso than the Grand Floridian!) I am glad you enjoyed the resort for your Honeymoon!!
