Thanx to Tony we now have something to talk about.

So.... are you going to contribute to Disney's next cash cow ?

ETA: Hmmmmmm..... guess the Poll Fairy didn't like my Poll or how people voted.

I will more than likely be pushing up daisies when it ends. As it is I'll be 88 when my current contract is over. I wish my kids were as nuts about WDW as I am, then I might consider extending my BWV contract and leaving it to them if it's ever offered. But alas, both refuse to drink the Kool-Aid their mom has drunk gallons of. :violinist

I require more information before making a decision.

As I said elsewhere, those of us who will be childfree and youngish (I am currently putting Rozzie, Carrie, Bav into that group, although that may still change before then!) may have the most difficult decision to make. No one deciding factor for us

Well don't I feel like an old mother after reading this!:Pokepoke:

Darn skippy, I'll take it!

I'm starting to wonder what the MF will be for my grave plot in WDW....

(...just how many points do you think I'll need for a perpetual care plot?)

I voted Heck No I'm not leaving it to my kids. Really, when they are 21, they can start saving their own money to buy their own timeshare or second home...I'll have provided 20 years of fun and games...time to grow up and get on with their own lives.

BUT, that doesn't mean I won't extend. It all depends on how attractive the extension pricing is. And I mean attractive.

I voted no. But then again, my contract expires later than OKW, etc. And Bavaria, you can take my DINK status to the bank, LOL!

BTW, nono, I just love your way of thinking. Very refreshing.

Depends. How much will the extension cost? I'm not signing up for anything until I know the price and other terms, LOL.

What about annual dues? If I don't extend, do I have to contribute to the capital reserves to the same extent as those who do?

Will the extensions still have the ROFR clause?

More stringent language about renting my interest?

Booking rule changes?

Will there be more or less benefits/perks for those who extend?

A special tapestry for the first few to extend? :D

I don't know is the honest answer. I'll be 84 when my VWL and BWV contracts expire. Do I really need to extend them to when I'm 99 or older? I'll have likely died or passed on the contracts to nieces/nephews long before then. I'd like to think I'll still be going to Disney when I'm 84, but who knows? Even the nieces and nephews will be hitting middle age by then.

I didn't vote as I don't own OKW

It would make OKW a more attractive DVC resort IMHO. I consider the amenities, location and years remaining to be the biggest factors in my analysis of what DVC to buy.

The extension would move OKW from bottom of the list to very high if the price comes out at something like teh median of the current price at SSR ($80 to 94) for an OKW DVD or resale purchase with a 2057 end date.

I think perhaps the "original OKW owners" are the most loyal DVC owners and they would like to see that core ownership group with a 2057 mindset to minimize future turn-over.

I would have voted, but it didn't have my options:

=Heck no, I don't own there
- or -
=Maybe when they offer it at SSR

If it's a one time deal (and we don't own OKW, so we'll have to see if they up the BCV at some point), we may consider it. In 2042, DH and I will be 69. But, we also have a contract at AKV, so we may just let the BCV slide. I think it all will depend on the magic number DVD decides to ask for.

Never one to make an impulse move especially involving my VISA
,,but I have a feeling it might be cha -ching cha -ching --that's the sound of the visa being swipped.
I will need lots more info though.CRV is weighing heavily upon my heart.

See, I have zero interest in CRV. We like MK, but I don't know that I'd want to be there all the time. I mean the walking convenience would be nice, just not my deal.

So extending for BCV...I'm interesting in what the offer will be. But if I deem it outrageous, we won't be blind to it and we'll pass.

I'm thinking of it as a pre-paid wedding present that I get to use.
