DVC has created quite a selection of dining alternatives for its members.  Beginning in April 2006, DVC members will even have access to the Disney Dining Plan (aka Magic Your Way Dining).

DVC Dining Discounts
Just being a DVC member is enough to access a number of dining perks throughout Walt Disney World and beyond.  To receive any of these discounts, members must present their Disney Vacation Club Member ID Card and/or current "Key to the World" card with Disney Vacation Club "Member" designation on it at the location. (Note: Your “Key to the World” card is simply your room key.)

Note that alcoholic beverages are excluded from all DVC dining discounts.  This list is subject to change at any moment.  Visit the DVC Members-Only Website for additional details.

Disney Dining Experience
The Disney Dining Experience (DDE) is a discount program that was originally offered only to Florida residents.  In 2005 it was opened up to Annual Passholders, too.  As such, the program is not a DVC discount per se—rather DVC members must also be Annual Passholders in order to participate.

The DDE program grants participants a discount of 20% off of their total food and beverage purchases (including alcohol) at most WDW dining locations. The cost for an annual DDE membership is as follows:

  • General Membership (Florida Residents ONLY): $85.00
  • Annual Passholders' Rate: $60.00
  • Florida Resident (non-Passholder) Renewals: $70.00 (for existing memberships received within 30 days of expiration date)
  • Add a second membership for your spouse or partner for only $25 more

Click HERE for a current list of Disney dining locations currently participating in the DDE program.

The 20% discount is applied for up to ten (10) diners on the same check at an eligible dining location.  Other benefits include:

  • Half price admission to Pleasure Island for the cardholder and one (1) guest.
  • Complimentary parking at a theme park for short periods for the sole purpose of dining within the theme park.  Guests must pay for parking upon arrival and can then obtain a refund at Guest Relations following their dinner.
  • Invitation to DDE special events.

DDE discounts cannot be combined with any other dining discount program.

There are a number of blackout dates for the DDE including New Year’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Character meals are eligible for the DDE discount.  However, the DDE discount is not available on Fantasmic Dinner Packages.

To obtain the DDE discount card, contact the DDE office during normal business hours (9am to 5pm Eastern, Monday through Friday) at 407-566-5858.  You must be a current Annual Passholder or the holder of an AP voucher in order to purchase the DDE card.

It can take 6 to 8 weeks for the printed DDE identification cards to arrive.  Guests visiting WDW before their ID cards have arrived can arrange to pick-up a temporary authorization letter from the Guest Services window at Epcot.

Due to the lag time in producing the ID cards, DDE participants will typically receive 13 or even 14 months worth of benefits from the DDE from purchase to the actual card expiration.  A guest calling to order the DDE card in mid-January 2006 can expect to receive printed ID cards that expire January 31, or perhaps even February 28, 2007.

Disney Dining Plan
The popular Disney Dining Plan (DDP) will be available to members beginning in April 1, 2006.  Some key features of the plan are noted below:

  • Participants receive one (1) table service meal, one (1) counter service meal and one (1) snack per day.
  • Some “signature restaurants” require the use of two table service meal credits per visit.
  • The meal plan is a length-of-stay plan and must be purchased for the entire duration of the DVC stay.
  • All registered guests staying in the DVC guest room must participate in the DDP.
  • The cost is $37.99 per adult and $10.99 per child (ages 3-9) per day.
  • Not all Disney restaurants participate in the plan .
  • Meal credits do not have to be used in any particular order.  In other words, a participant can elect to use two table service meal credits in a single day, and use two counter service credits the following day.
  • Unused credits expire at the end of the trip.  No refunds are issued for unused credits.
  • The DDP is not available to members staying at the Hilton Head Island or Vero Beach resorts.
  • Contact DVC Member Services to add the DDP to a reservation.

Additional details regarding the DDP as provided by DVC can be found here.
