The Beach Club resort is a subtle gem of a resort. While visiting, take the time to explore the “nooks and crannies”…like any grand dame, she has a story to tell if you take the time. Some favorites are:
The Solarium, The Drawing Room, and The Breezeway
Hair Wrapping
Portrait Painting
"Art the Greeter"
Beachfront Property
Flower and Garden Tour
Wildlife Observations
The Sandcastle Club
Refillable Mugs
The Solarium, The Drawing Room and The Breezeway
Each of these rooms has its own distinct flavor. These relaxing areas are reminiscent of the parlors of the late 19th century. They are a great place to curl up with a book in the morning or a hot beverage in the evening. You can enjoy people watching in the splendor of a turn-of-the-century seaside escape. Take the time to look at the knick-knacks and pictures….you will find some interesting artifacts (and lots of hidden Mickeys).

Hair Wrapping
This can be done at a Kiosk just outside of Stormalong Bay.

Portrait Painting
Inside The Beach Club lobby, you will find an amazing artist who draws (and paints) beautiful charcoal and watercolor paintings. She is also an accomplished photographer. You may either bring in photos, or she will take them for you. Next, you choose the setting, time period, and clothing that you prefer, and over the next six weeks she will draw and paint a beautiful portrait. These can be expensive, but they are absolutely gorgeous. And, even if you don’t want to have a portrait painted….plan some time to sit in the lobby and watch her…she is amazing.

“Art the Greeter”
One of the living legends of DVC is Art the greeter. He has been highlighted in almost every DVC promotion ever produced. He is a living representation of what The Beach Club stands for…the elegance and grandeur of a simpler time. He is quite dashing in his blue and white uniform, and if he greets you at the porte-cochere entrance, expect a grand salute! He is also a great pin trader. Take the time to pose in a picture with him…it is an experience you will not soon forget.

Beachfront Property
One of the most underrated elements of The Beach Club is the beach itself. Most often you will find “porch swings” large enough for a family spread throughout the beach area. These make for a great place to watch the sunset, or Illuminations. The beach is also a great way to spend a romantic evening as you watch the boats go by.
Flower and Garden Tour
Guided tours are available through the beautifully landscaped Beach Club grounds. Check with the concierge for times and availability.

Wildlife Observations
For some reason, much wildlife seems to want to “hang out” at The Beach Club (Seriously….can you blame them?). Many guests have reported seeing alligators and turtles, so keep your eyes open.

The Sandcastle Club
This facility provides entertaining childcare for children 4-12 (little ones must be potty-trained). This service is available from 4:30 p.m. to midnight, with some exceptions. Staff members make sure the children have a wonderful experience and provide games, arts and crafts, “dress up” opportunities, video games, and movies.
The Sandcastle Club issues beepers to parents so they can be contacted in case of emergency. (Parents may also call the childcare club to check on their children if desired.)
The cost is $10 per hour (with a 4 hour maximum stay). Dinner is usually included and is usually typical children's fare, such as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets and French fries, fruit and ice cream.
Reservations are required in most cases, although walk-ins may be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To make reservations, call 407-WDW-DINE. You may also call the Sandcastle Club directly at (407) 934-7000, ext. 6191.
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance, otherwise a fee of $20 per child is assessed. Reservations are held for 30 minutes before they are released to other guests.
